A lot of people can't reach their goals. Sometimes it happens because of the lack of proper planning, or you don't know how to reach your goal. We often wonder about the needs of achieving our dream jobs. Sometimes, we even don't understand what we want to do for a living. A Roadmap To Career Success by John G. Bendt has given all the answers.
First of all, you should understand what you want to do or what you find interesting. Once you find your dream job, then your journey of success will start. You should know about the essentials of the job you desire. You should get everything ready in time. Now, a question would bother you that what will be a perfect time. Bendt described all the points with a step by step instruction in a simple language. Bendt discussed the skills that you are going to need. The advantages which will help you reach your goal have been provided. How to research about the occupation and the related industries and companies have been given. Other than this, Bendt has given some table of examples which would help you understand the whole idea. Bendt talked about how to develop your skills. Besides this, he gave a description of how to market yourself.
What I liked most was that Bendt presented his research so clearly that a kid can understand it, and I appreciate that. He used bold fonts, bulletins, and underlines that made every chapter too easy to understand. He used simple language so that everybody can understand it. His instructions were written in a step by step manner. There were some references to books about some particular topics. There were also some websites where people could research their jobs and companies, and that caught my eyes also.
There was only one thing which I didn't like. To talk to a physical therapist was a little too much for me. I think there was no need for that. Other than this, the book was impressive. The way of giving information impressed me.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I didn't give it a 4 because I didn't like some parts of the book. I didn't give it a 2 because there were a lot of things which I liked. The book was well-edited. As I mentioned before that the use of bold fonts, bulletins, and underlines made the book easy to understand. I recommend this book to those who are in their high schools. It will help them plan their career. Also, people who are still trying to reach their goals and somehow didn't make it yet should read this book.
