Why I Am Pro-Life: Confronting the Culture of Death
Table of contents
Introduction
I am a pro-life Pentecostal Christian, and I believe that life begins at conception and abortion is equivalent to killing a child, as stated in the fifth commandment, 'thou shall not kill.' Despite the difficult circumstances, such as rape, adoption is a viable option that should be considered. Moreover, medical complications resulting from abortion can be severe, including incomplete abortion, heavy and prolonged bleeding, and infection, among others. Instead of resorting to abortion, women should consider alternative options, such as temporary guardianship, kinship adoption, or independent adoption. While I understand the other side of the argument, as a woman, we must remember that every decision we make has consequences, and we should make them with utmost responsibility and care.
Over the years there have been great and bad comments about abortion. For example, why women can not have an abortion when getting raped? I’m a Pentecostal Christian, this means that I believe in one God and he will come soon, and I need to be baptized in the name of Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit. When reading the bible, it mentions the Ten Commandments and the fifth commandment says you should not kill. Now, having an abortion is killing your child no matter the circumstances. Also, women do not take in consideration that there are other options besides having an abortion. For example, giving the baby for adoption. Finally, we have evolved in this world and is really hard to be in what side or the other. One because my religion avoids it and the second because being raped is something that no women want to go through.
I am a pro-life
When getting pregnant, a man and a woman create life, At that moment you can go to your OB/GYN and hear a heartbeat, now you as a woman you are carrying a heartbeat in your belly. In the United States, usually, you have up to the 24th week of your pregnancy to terminate it. Now imagine being pregnant and you are in your 12th week of pregnancy and you go to the doctor to get an abortion. Before the procedure, you hear the baby’s heartbeat. How would you feel, being a human, having a heartbeat and someone close to you just decide they want to terminate you? That’s exactly how a baby works too, they are life and only God can give life and take it away. Abortion is biblical and also there could be consequences as in medical wise. God gave life and, he created us in his own image just like in Genesis 1:26-27 mentions “And God said, let us make man in Our Image, according to our likeness…” “And God created man in his own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” With that said God said that the baby he created has a soul and it would be bearable to kill a child that He created. Some people do not believe about God, so what other options to convince them that abortion is still not a great option to do. Medical-wise, there are many consequences for example, an incomplete abortion which may need to be followed by surgical abortion. Another example is heavy and prolonged bleeding, another is infection and fever. These are some of the risks a woman can have when having an abortion. There are other approaches a woman can do so she would not do an abortion which as adoption. While one woman is thinking about abortion another is getting frustrated because she cannot get pregnant. Now how this helps one another? The woman that wants to have an abortion can simply give the child up for abortion, now the lady that is trying to get pregnant can have this child. here are some procedures when giving up your baby, reach out to social services. While the state may not be able to take custody of your child, they can provide resources to make parenting easier. Consider temporary guardianship. Complete a kinship adoption. Complete an independent adoption. Take a break. Now maybe you will think about it your whole pregnancy but these are some options and you would not murder your own child. We are in a world where science evolves in a blink of an eye, there is one situation where we all are in the side of yes do abortion, and that is rape. in the United States science goes from one tiny moment to a bigger one, is there a way to prevent getting pregnant when raped? In the instance of rape and incest, proper medical care can ensure that a woman will not get pregnant. so, there is ways to prevent this type of pregnancy. One, remember to be safe, always use protection, second make sure you are ready for a baby with your significant other, and finally be safe.
As a woman we make decisions for ourselves, they can be a good thing or a bad thing. Making decisions always have consequence. The other side of abortion is no easy for me, but we are a generation that needs to learn to accept the other side of things and not argue about the matter violently. Being a woman is hard sometimes, they go thru these things and no one is there to help. So, saying you make your own decisions when terminating a pregnancy sounds just about right. Now if the doctor suggests you should get an abortion the do it. Here are some diseases that would make you terminate a pregnancy. When going to the doctor and having a checkup for the baby they might tell you the baby would have complications will you want to keep the baby or not? There you can choose if you want to have an abortion this is where you decide because the baby may have complications. Another example of why you could have an abortion if the doctors tell you to have an ectopic pregnancy which means that abortion is significantly related to an increased risk of subsequent ectopic pregnancies. Ectopic pregnancies, in turn, are life-threatening and may result in reduced fertility. Maybe when having sexual intercourse and forgetting to use protection and you were not on the pill, then what if you get pregnant. there are choices you can do and is safe. Now you have to make a decision if you want to commit murder on your own child. here are some medical abortions, a common one is Methotrexate and Misoprostol this is a medical procedure used up to the first seven weeks of pregnancy. Another reason why someone should have an abortion is when a child was raped should have an abortion because a child's body is not capable to have another child.
This has been such a rollercoaster because as for my religion and rape. if I was in a situation where I had to choose to have an abortion or keep it depending on any of the above situations would be so hard. First, if I was raped God forbid, I would keep the child. I might have to go to therapy and stuff and talk about it with my pastor. This situation would make it so different like is not enough that the rapist went to jail. In this case, I would have to think about it really well before making any decisions. After talking about it I think I would put the child for adoption. Me being a Christian makes any situation worse. Because I have family and friends that have been thru some of these situations. For example, one of my friends has a Down syndrome son, but they told her if she wanted to terminate her pregnancy and well, she had a talk with the pastor he is also her father in law they prayed and she had a normal pregnancy they child was still diagnose with down syndrome but only has about 3% and they did great. So being in a situation when my doctor would tell me to terminate the pregnancy because this would be bad for you or the child is hard if God gave me life, he has a purpose for putting this child in my belly and I wouldn’t terminate the pregnancy no matter how the baby comes. In the end for me no matter how the child is coming I will keep it because God gave him a life and when there is hope there is faith. Deeply I know if God decided to make me a mother no matter what my pregnancy is, I would not terminate a child's life. And if it was rape, I would keep it or give it to adoption where there are millions of families that would want a child in their homes.
Conclusion
In the end, every woman has a choice when to terminate a pregnancy. Now if is medical-wise, be prepared for what you are going to do. Educate yourself on the matter, because there are always consequences. If you think having a child would ruin your life then educate yourself on giving it for adoption and make sure you think this truly because once you give this child for adoption you might not see him or her again. Every woman has a choice, always know what the right choice for you first and the father's child because you did not make this child on your own. Now for a solution, I don’t think there is a solution for this type of matter, or you make a choice to keep the baby or give it away to adoption or have an abortion. In the end, is the woman’s choice whether the father likes it or not. Always remember to make the right decision and be safe.
