The Admission to the Electrical Engineer Profession

Growing up, I was always intrigued by electrical appliances, electrical wiring, lighting, and just about anything that had current running through it. Often my parents would scold me for taking apart my toys since my curiosity led me to disassemble the various parts to find out how each of the components functioned. I was fascinated by the physical world, questioning how every equipment operated, which often got me in trouble. As I commenced with my education in elementary school, I always admired electrical technicians and vowed to become one when I grew up. I aspired to become a vibrant, dynamic, and professional electrical engineer who adds value to life by solving various electrical related problems in society.

Since elementary school, I was particularly good in the sciences as I performed exceptionally well in these when compared to other subjects. Later on, in high school, I developed a passion for physics, more so in the electrical lessons. It was more like a calling, as I easily related to the subject, comparing what I learned in the class to the everyday appliances we have in our homes. I strived to exert more effort in mathematics units since I knew that a combination of these was critical in helping me achieve my dreams. I put in additional hours in my studies, enabling me to graduate from High School and join the Lebanese International University, pursuing Electrical Engineering.

Being a self-driven and proactive individual, I was diligent enough to conduct some research and learn what was required of me to excel in this field. Consequently, I took the initiative to learn some programming languages which I believe are crucial as one designs circuits for various electrical components. I am confident to say that I am now proficient in both Java and Html5 languages. This is to confirm that I am ready to exert the needed effort to enable me to succeed in this career. Furthermore, I plan to put in more effort so that I can learn more languages including MATLAB, Python, and C++. I believe that with these skills, I will be better equipped to model and solve complex problems such as hardware level coding and assembly code.

I consider myself a problem solver, and I plan to use the knowledge grasped at the University in solving various electrical related problems within society. I believe that with the right skills and motivation, one can achieve a lot; be it in creating new systems or enhancing the current ones to increase effectiveness and efficiency. Furthermore, I like to help others and make their experiences enjoyable. I have achieved this, for example, by working as a private teacher. Although I do get monetary benefits, I derive most joy from seeing my students succeed and perform better in their studies. Accordingly, I would like to aid people through the technical and theoretical skills acquired and developing efficient electrical systems and appliances for use in their homes.

I request to be granted a chance in an Institution of higher learning to help achieve my dreams. This opportunity would help develop my problem-solving skills as I interact with international students from around the globe who share different perspectives to various scenarios. Such an opportunity would help open my mind to new ideas and cultures, giving me different approaches to various issues. Furthermore, I believe that I will get a University that is well equipped with regards to personnel and educational resources to help enhance my technological knowledge as I also get to learn more programming languages.
