With Apparently limitless options of reflexology, sport massage, aromatherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered counselling and neuro-linguistic programming, why should anyone choose hypnotherapy?
As a hypnotherapist, I’ve seen immediate incredible changes that this form of therapy can bring. Something that I hear a lot from clients is, ‘I’ve tried everything, but I just feel hopeless”. Their motivation and mood were at an unprecedented low, and they were almost at the point where they had given up faith. However, when they decided to try hypnotherapy, their discomforts and problems diminished meaningfully. They began to enjoy something which they had previously avoided, and by the end of their course of therapy they were no longer experiencing events of phobias, fears, anxiety, sleep disorders, depression, stress, post-trauma anxiety, and grieves at all.
Hypnotherapy uses directed relaxation, powerful concentration, and engrossed attention to achieve an augmented state of consciousness that is sometimes called a trance. The person’s attention is so focused while in this state that anything going on around the person is briefly blocked out or disregarded. In this naturally occurring state, a person may focus his or her attention on specific thoughts or tasks with the help of a trained therapist. Besides, hypnosis allows people to recognize some things differently, such as hindering an alertness of pain. In other words, virtually any condition that’s driven by subconscious thinking can be overturned or ameliorated using hypnotherapy. For the similar reason, I like to incorporate hypnotherapy into my meditation classes, I find it enables the practitioner to go deeper and allows me the freedom to place intentions deep into the subconscious.
Hypnosis is not a dangerous procedure. It is not mind control or brainwashing. A therapist cannot make a person do something uncomfortable or that which the person doesn’t want to do. However, hypnosis might not be apposite for a person who has psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations and delusions, or for someone who is using drugs or alcohol. Eventually, my goal as hypnotherapist is to identify the source, provide suggestions for overcoming that negative behavior, and ultimately, reinforcing the behavior during follow-up sessions. In particular, hypnotherapy can help you overcome: compulsions like overeating or procrastination, phobias and fears like claustrophobia and fear of flying, addictions such as smoking, gambling and drugs and alcohol, and other negative conducts like depression, anxiety, stress and rage. This is just a short list of the most common conditions hypnosis can be used to help. There are many more; whether your concern is about decision making, melancholic demeanor, obsessive habitual disorder, addictions, familial affiliation troubles or just about whatsoever else — hypnotherapy could be the cure you’ve been probing for.
