Our Spring Break Vacations In Florida

Every year, toward the beginning, my family always start to plan what we will be doing for spring break and where we will be spending it. Somehow we always choose Florida. I’m not sure if it’s because they live close enough to drive there or if it’s just my particular favorite. For the past five years, I’ve been every year. It has turned into a tradition. I think it’s my favorite vacation spot because I’m drawn to the beach water, they have awesome food, and it’s always something to do. I always wait until the first of the year so I can suggest going to Florida I know my family is tired of going but how can they blame me. We live in Alaska, so of course, I want to go to the beach every vacation I get.

First, I enjoy going to Florida because I love going to the beach. It’s always so peaceful, especially if you’re walking the shoreline letting the water hit your legs and feet. You can feel the wet sand under your toes. Their beach water is so amazing. Every view of the beach is postcard worthy. You can actually see through their beach water because it is so clear. We always wait until the sun has went down to go to the beach because the sun seems like its beaming right in our face. We also wait because most of the people are gone and you can chill and relax and enjoy the water waves and its sounds. One time I was laying there and I accidentally went to sleep. My sister thought I was kidding but I was really sleeping. The sounds the water make are so calming and peaceful that I drifted off to sleep. It almost was the best sleep I had all year. I was mad that it was time to go but it was time to put something in our stomach. I also enjoy going to Florida because they have amazing food. I love seafood and they always have the best seafood but I expected that because most of it is fresh and straight from the water.

One of my favorite restaurants is Joe’s Crab Shack. Oh my God they have the best seafood and they give you your money’s worth. My husband is allergic to seafood and he hate the smell of it so he has to get a steak or some chicken or something. Sometimes I feel bad for eating it around him but he doesn’t mind and it hasn’t bothered him yet so I guess I’m good. Another one of the restaurants I like is Shrimp Basket. My husband like this restaurant also. I don’t think the seafood smell is as bad in there because they have a variety of different food in there but, of course, I have to have my seafood. I always order fish, shrimp or both. You would think Alaska would have great seafood as well but they don't. I guess it's a southern thing because it's totally different.

Finally, I enjoy going to Florida because it's always something to do there. That’s one thing about Florida you will never be bored. We are either going to an arcade, amusement park, or shopping. I usually don’t get on any rides but since I have a child now some rides she can’t ride by herself. I was so glad my daughter was a little older because she was able to enjoy the trip just as much as we did. I think going to the amusement park and arcade was her favorite part because she really enjoyed the little rides she was able to ride and didn’t want to get off of them. So we had to let her ride each of them like three or four times and took her back before we left. My favorite part was shopping. I leave things at home just so we can go to the outlets and the mall. My husband hates this part of the trip until he sees something that he wants because I always take a long time in stores and when I see sale or clearance I can’t pass it up. I’ve gotten a lot better since I had my daughter because she’ll start acting out if she’s sitting in one spot for a long time and then I’m ready to go. We usually go shopping before we get to the entertainment part of the trip that way we would have something to wear and be comfortable if we packed the wrong clothes because the Florida heat is unpredictable. I remember my husband didn’t want to go shopping with me and when we went out he was hot and sweating when we went to the amusement park. Luckily, he had on a muscle shirt under his shirt.

In conclusion, I always look forward to the beginning of the year so we can plan our spring break trip. Hopefully, we don’t break our family tradition. I would really be sad about that. I’m sure my family is tired of Florida, but Florida is my time to relax. I would miss out on the amazing beach scenery, all the tasty food, shopping and going to the arcade. I cannot think of a better spring break vacation than going to my favorite spot, Florida.
