Establishing Education Goals and Career Goals in Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, corporate industries are booming remarkably and competition is building across many markets. Local as well as foreign investors are greatly increasing their investment to capture the global market. Therefore, highly skilled and intellectual manpower is needed in these industries. Currently, I am working as an Officer in the Foreign Trade Department at Mutual Trust Bank Limited, a leading bank in Bangladesh. Besides many responsibilities, my duty is to lead a team. Which I have to motivate constantly to be most efficient as possible to be most efficient. Additionally, I work with clients and have to manage their issues. Moreover, the decision-making process is mostly handed to me which is often very tricky. To lift up my career in Bangladesh, I need sophisticated and in-depth knowledge regarding managerial leadership, strategic business, strategic decision-making, effective communication, and negotiation skills. These will help me make managerial decisions effectively in the long run in any banking sector in my country. That is why I feel the urge of having a world-class education. Canada has one of the best education systems in the world. I could have picked any first world nation however thinking about Bangladeshi point of view, North American degree is more perceived than some other outside degrees. Following I took the choice of examining in Canada since it's the most inviting and popular in higher study and quality institution framework, I have begun looking for a decent university that could empower me to get more profound information of the subject I will ponder. My inquiry finished when I came to think about the University of Regina. I connected to this university and got unconditional offer letter. I am certain that the University of Regina will most likely furnish me with the best preparing and training capability. Master of Administration in Leadership program at the University of Regina suits my interest best Therefore I chose to admit to this program.
I believe that graduating from this program will benefit me to stand out of the crowd in decision-making processes, leadership skills, effective communication & mediation skills, developing new opportunities and furthermore. This skill set can further be implied to the banking industry resulting in a potentially significant contribution to the economic growth of Bangladesh. Additionally, I have four years of job experience in the banking sector that will help me to accelerate my learning curve in this program.
I have completed my Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration according to the discipline in Marketing with CGPAs of 3.81 and 3.88 respectively from the American International University-Bangladesh, the top-ranked private university in Bangladesh in 2013 & 2015. After completing my studies, I worked at Dhaka Bank Ltd. as an Officer from May 2015 to September 2018. Following that, I joined Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. as an Officer in the Foreign Trade Department in September 2018 and I am holding the position to present. Due to my work in which I am leading a team, I realized that the leadership knowledge given by this program is going to help me to improve my abilities to lead people. I believe these skills will help me to reach the managerial level in my workplace and reach my maximum career potential. There are also better career perspectives with a higher degree completed in North America, especially in the organization I am currently working in. It can promote to higher positions quickly. That is why I have decided to do my second masters in Administration Leadership, a subject related to my job field. My overall education goals are to acquire leadership knowledge, enhance my learning with industry guest speakers, and capture insights from business leaders worldwide. I also believe that after completing this program I will be able to provide a change-oriented leadership by transferring knowledge, competence, and interpersonal skills into improved organizational arrangements and outcomes. To be a professional in this field one must have studied it in detail, and this is what I would like to do. To know more about the field of administration, I have decided to pursue a graduate degree in this field for the growth of my banking career.
The present circumstance of education in Bangladesh is improving, yet not at a quicker rate. In our country, there are actually no educational institutions that conduct full-time academic programs in compelling administration and leadership theories. There are some training sessions available here for a specific time with limited seats, but they will not be enough to gain sufficient knowledge in the field. It would be less than ideal to get this type of training sessions so instead, I want to pursue the program at the University of Regina where that field has been extensively developed. This will give me a competitive advantage in my country.
After completing the Masters of Administration in Leadership, I can implement the new ideas that I learned about business policy and strategy, managing change, negotiation and conflict resolution in my workplace to increase my productivity and contributions there. This program is well suited to my job field and would boost me to reach the managerial level in the banking sector. This degree would also help me to get better opportunities in the banking sector as North American degrees are well recognized in Bangladesh, especially this type of program in administration. A potential student can change a lot in any organization after completing the program.
I was born and brought up in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. I love my homeland very much. I am the youngest son of my parents. My father retired from IFIC Bank Ltd. as a Senior Assistant Vice President and my mother is a family manager. All of my study and living expenses will be carried by my parent’s savings, earnings from their jobs and benefit and from our house rent. I have a well-settled job in Bangladesh. Banking jobs are generally very prestigious compared to other professions. I have a good future in my country. After coming back, I will be helped toward getting promoted to the managerial level in my organization. My parents own a house in Dhanmondi in Dhaka with 6(Six) stories residential building, as well as some lands in their village area, and in future, I will have to look after these properties. When I come back to my country after receiving my education, I will be able to take care of my family as well as serve my country in my respective field. Additionally, I am married and have two daughters; clearly, it is my duty to support my family after completing my study for their betterment. So I have to make sure that within the next few years, I will complete my study, come back home, join my workplace, and help my other family members jointly to take care of my parents.
