The three assessments provide educational help and information for students to see how they learn/study best and negative factors that could be improved upon. The first assessment, Multiple Intelligences, features differing options of intelligence such as linguistic intelligence, logical mathematical intelligence, etc. The VARK assessment gauges which areas you scored highest regarding: kinesthetic, reading/writing, aural and visual. The third assessment is Do you know how to study? Which provides how you can study best and what study habits you need to improve or get rid of. All of these as a whole provide a lot of help and support for learning ethics. The significant aspect of every process or situation is the reflection of the thoughts and actions carried throughout and how they correlated to responding factors. For the duration of my educational development, I have been able to observe certain mannerisms I tend to depend on in order to shape my learning. In my recent participation of three assessments, they have called attention to strategies specific to my style of learning and further enabled me to emphasize these crucial building blocks. Breaking down the distinct technique in how it’s utilized, your thoughts and feelings toward the strategy, and connections relating outside of the academic world shape the unique perspective which we interpret things. These faithful evaluations further my understanding of my way of learning and its fundamental basis.

The foundation of the 3.2 Multiple Intelligences assessment functions on eight varying intelligences that fluctuate when pertaining to the individual. These eight question evaluations supply an educated result of the best ways which a person learns and opposing areas that could be further improved to have a more well-rounded character. I am convinced that the ability to express my thoughts and ideas, in a cohesive explanation, is as crucial as the act of comprehending others. In scoring a six on the first analysis, linguistic intelligence, I predicted a similar outcome because its basis of communication is an activity that I actively participate in. My answers concerning math, truthfully exhibit my acknowledgement in the subject being a weakness of mine, although I scored a five in logical-mathematical intelligence. I prefer the rational expression of categories and explanations that adhere to my interest in new scientific advances.

Spatial Intelligence, which I scored a four out of eight, is the frame of mind to visually or graphically view the world. Although I am passionate in exerting the potential of cameras through photography, I do not perceive my surroundings in vivid color or in the art of drawing. Scoring a six, Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence is the operation of solving a problem, creating, or the production of an event by the whole body or parts. As a thrill-seeker ready for any situation, I often have to sharpen my skills by repeatedly practicing and am frequently fidgety. Despite not being musically inclined, I believe it to be an important part of my life because it’s an outlet to express my emotions. This is my lowest scoring section of a two in Musical Intelligence. The capacity to understand other people centers Interpersonal Intelligence (I received a score of four) by circumstances of embodying a leader and challenging others, which I try to carry out. Intrapersonal intelligence was my highest rated evaluation with a score seven in terms of the significance of yourself as a person. Investing in myself by always following my core values and doing what’s best for my circumstance is pivotal in my decision making. Lastly, I scored an overall six for being “nature smart” in caring for the natural world and the living organisms impacting its environment. I feel that I encompass myself with Naturalistic Intelligence because I am very compassionate and understanding.

The VARK assessment stands for Visual, Aural, Read/write, and Kinesthetic sensory strategies. The assessment is used to identify which way you learn best and to find out which ones you need to improve on. Visualization is the first strategy you get tested on which is if you learn best by watching, I received a 10. The second is aural, meaning if you learn best by hearing others talk, my score was a 9. The third is reading/writing, some people learn best by rewriting information or rereading it several times, I got a 9. The fourth one is kinesthetic, I am kinesthetic as to where I very much prefer to do most new things I’m needed to try with my hands and my results were a 13.

Study Habits Assessment was a test where I mistakenly interpreted the questions wrong. Two of my best study habits would have to be working in an environment that is not silent but is not too loud, it has to have just the right amount of quiet. I have to work at a table most of the time because if I get too comfortable I’ll get tired easier and procrastinate more. Two of my worst study habits would have to be trying to eat while I work, eating while studying completely distracts me and slows me down. Another bad study habit would be watching television while studying, it does not help me focus and analyze everything I need to do. Some ways I can improve in my bad study habits would have to be maybe instead of eating a meal at once I can take a spoonful after accomplishing a task and whenever I take my breaks from studying I can watch a little bit of television then go back to work.

I agree with most of my results from 3.2, and 3.3 assessments. I do not agree with my results from 3.4 due to the fact of me misinterpreting the test. I agree with 3.2 and 3.3 assessments for the reason being that I do learn easiest with the kinesthetic and visual style. In 3.2 I agreed to all answers by reason of me knowing I prefer to do anything hands on rather than something I have to visualize or solve mentally. For the 3.3 assessment I agree with it because my scores seemed accurate except for my score in aural, it was higher than I expected since I thought I didn’t hear others well while teaching. In reference to my learning style, aural/auditory and kinesthetic strategies specifically influence my ability to grasp information the most. The foundation of aural/auditory is the essence of communication, as the preference of receiving knowledge is either spoken or heard. This is crucial to my development, as an overall individual, because my competence is based on what I know and my following response. The act of listening to varying perspectives, analyzing a situation through discussion, being involved by asking questions, and ensuring my comprehension is correct by recalling the information through tests allow me to truly acquire knowledge to my best potential. Simultaneously, kinesthetic is an additional strategy I utilize in distinguishing content during lectures, videos, through diagrams, etc. By employing my own experiences and perspective, I am able to associate varying topics and subject matter to form a cohesive thought. By ways of examples, trial and error, cases, and exercises enables my own unique clarification. The use of my preferred learning/study style can be applied to other revenues outside of academics because they are universal techniques in the sense of them being compatible to diverse mediums.

Learning approaches of aural/auditory and kinesthetic beneficial in circumstances of translating and cooking. As many of my family members and peers are of Hispanic descent with a firm language background of Spanish, I have the advantage of being fluent in both languages and am a supportive assistant sometimes in explaining communication through multiple parties around me. It’s crucial to be able to hear the speaker, evaluate the content being said, and further proceed to translate to the other individual correctly as the information could be sensitive. In preparing meals, the kinesthetic method is valuable by offering the physical recognition necessary to properly handle certain steps of the process. The generic outline of a recipe provides the required ingredients and steps to assemble, but it doesn’t accurately demonstrate the understanding of textures and consistencies, especially considering extensive homemade dishes. Being repeatedly taught to creates these dishes, exercises motor skills to best remember the actions needed.

When applying study skills in my daily life, establishing a safe atmosphere that I am comfortable to work in is pivotal in completing projects within my own home, in family and peer households, and within my work environment. Also, being able to control my environment in terms of having appropriate characteristics (volume, lighting, activities, etc) that suit the situation. An example would be in putting a child to bed, the setting should be dark and soothing rather than chaotic and loud. I have a few study skills that I lack in and doubtlessly need improvement in. I don’t talk much to a peer after a lesson is over to conversate about what we have learned. I need to learn how to make a study plan and stick to it in order to master class material. I don’t usually quiz myself as I’m studying to see what I understand and what I don’t. If I improve in these areas I will have made life a lot easier for me academically and personally. It’s important to recognize weaknesses in order to overcome them.
