The Impact Of Library Over Internet On Student's Success
This is my first semester at Rowan College South Jersey (RCSJ). In the short frame of time I have spent in this campus I was able to find my favorite place. Of all the places our campus has, the library is my favorite place to be. The Library contributes to students success because it has the resources, technology, and work space that supports our academic journey.
To begin with the library has multiple resources that helped me succeed. The library has multiple resources such as books, journals, computers, and more. As a student I have noticed by my own experiences, that almost anything can be found or referenced in the library. Personally I enjoy finding articles on politics, economics, and more that contributes to my academic success. Also I enjoy using the library resources to conduct my research in courses or homework assigned to me. The library offers the option to read books, journals, magazines, and articles, with a diverse option of topics. The library is overflowing with accurate information that can be easily accessed as long as have a library card. The library offers information that is based on true facts, not hypotheses or opinions.
Additionally, us students use the internet as we work in our assignments or research. The library offers free access to internet, computers, and printers that benefit the students that do not have those resources at home. This easy access to these items and technology give us another recipe of convenience. Many of us students are required to cite articles or information into our assignments, many times we do not know how to correctly cite it or apply it. Thanks to the library resources and technology we can cite them correctly. The best part is that the access of this technology and resources do not only help us (the students) it also helps our mentors and peers. According to corso, and devine, “ The benefits for the mentors (the students) are that they sharpen their communication skills, think more about teaching and learning issues, improve their time-management skills, and in general, become better students” (p.107). The technology and resources that the library offers is a great advantage for college students and mentors.
Lastly, the library is a wonderful place to begin a research project or to simply get inspired to write a song, book or just to think. The library has a unique atmosphere, is smoothing, calming, and quiet place with alot of work space. The library offers comfortable couches, tables, and more to give us a better experience. In the library are private study rooms for those students that have group projects, giving them the access to work together without interrupting others. Students can utilize the workspace to their convenience and it’s extends to get a better outcome. The library is a wonderful place to do basically anything, from thinking, to getting inspired or relaxed, or to just getting away from certain situations. The library is a safe place where education, knowledge, information, and resources are available at all moments and time.
