Psychotic and Rambunctious: Harley Quinn as a Role Model

A hero can demonstrate the qualities of the archetypal hero by being courageous and willingness to fight for others. Heros is an archetype that reflects the common experiences all human beings experiences. Personal experiences of a hero would be a parent or a caretaker these people have shaped a child in to what adult they will become, they are strong and are willing to do anything for their children's success. According to the article 10 Reasons Why We Need Heroes authors Allison and authors stated, “We are moved by stories of magical beings with superhuman powers who can instantly remove danger and make everything right”. This illustrated that heroes are important to one’s life and suggest that superheroes in comic books can also show the admiration of others in society.

The traditional “hero” archetype is described as someone who saves lives and does not create destruction in the public and is the one saving it. A hero can also be deciphered as someone who is in the face of danger, combats adversity through courage, or strength. Harley Quinn would be considered a hero because even though she is ruthless and kills people she does it out of compassion for others. Heros are still relevant today because weather it be a fictional character or an actual human beings heros empower and individual as well as encourages others to become a better person to society.

Harley Quinn is a hero because she is independent and has her own lifestyle. Her energetic and animated personality can make anyone drop their guard if they aren’t careful. Harley is upset about a burglars misfortunate past and cries, “That is the most horrible think *sniff* I’ve ever heard. Poor Pickles poor you”. Harley is very charismatic towards others if you have a troubled past and is struggling she will help you by every means necessary. Later in the novel she comes across this man named Syborg, he tells her he needs help killing russian spies that could be a threat to the United States, she happily agrees because she is a helpful person and is kind, a hero of some sort. As making a mess of things with a katapult Harley states, “Oh well it aint like it’s the end of the universe as we know it”. Her humor in this scene also shows that Harley is a fun character and that she serves as a comic relief in intense situations. Heroes are significant individuals that make life better for others. Heros can be anyone that has shaped an individual's life for the better and inspire one another to be themselves. Harley quinn is a great example of a hero and shows that they are necessary for growth in society.

Heros elevate emotions of oneself and they encourage communication between others. Harley Quinn fits this stigma of the relevance of a hero because as a psychiatrist she sees that there are alot of people in need of communication so they don't feel lonely or depressed. She connects herself with her patients and tries to help them with their issues. In the article The Importance of Heroes by Michael Urick states “It should be noted that both heroes and leaders don’t necessarily need to possess a particular title… A true hero fits the environment in which she or he is needed”. Heros can arise from any situation and it’s their job to protect not only themselves but others as well. Harley Quinn is a great example to this because she does not fit the generic title of a hero she is a woman with big ambitions and if she is ever lied to or taken advantage of she will set out her goals to protect her friends and people in need. Anti- hero and a hero are different because one causes cautious and the other stops it, Harley is a hero because despite her behavior her strength shows for a symbol to women to be themselves.

Harley Quinn would be viewed as a legend in light of the fact that despite the fact that she is savage and slaughters individuals she does it because of empathy for other people. The relevance of heroes is still important today because they enable an individual just as urges others to improve as a society. It is significant to note that heroes can come from anywhere. Parents and family members could be the people who look up to the most and who develop their abilities in life. However, comic books and superhero stories is what gives an audience a thrill and feel inspired after watching or reading about a hero fighting off bad guys and showing that the characters expressions and feelings can give them something to relate to and that anyone can be a hero. The physcotic rambunctious girl named Harley Quinn is an impactful hero with compassion for individuals and suggest that in society heros are needed because they help to model good behaviors and values.
