Life on Mars: NASA’s Research and Development on Reaching the Red Planet
Good evening, my name is Obada Wazwaz and tonight I would like to be discussing NASA’S future journey to planet Mars and the attempt of creating a civilization on the planet. Ever since NASA’s goal to reach the moon in July 1969, people have been dreaming bigger and started considering a trip to our neighbouring planet, Mars. Fiction books and media have always told stories of humans living on a planet other than Earth, thanks to NASA extensive research and development they have successfully created a plan to reach the Red Planet. Thousands of people have already registered to a one way trip to mars for the sake of making life multiplanetary. NASA aims to takeoff and send the first martians in the early 2030s. Robotic Rovers are already on Mars gathering essential information about the planet. The information is used to plan out the trip in 2030 and know what to expect. The reason NASA chose Mars out of all the other 6 planets in the solar system is because the planet has very similar properties to Earth. Temperatures can be close to the countries in the far north like northern Sweden, Canada, and Greenland. Atmospheric pressure and the force of gravity are somewhat different, but manageable with future technologies developed.
Now you might be wondering, other than the fact that a trip to Mars can be exciting, why leave our perfectly fine planet known for being compatible for life and live in a planet with harsh conditions? The answer is, unfortunately, that we humans are suffering a global crisis and are on the brink of extinction. According to well-known scientist and physicist Stephen Hawking, humans will most-likely go extinct the early 22nd century if don't change our way of living on Earth. The upcoming mass-extinction might be the worst Earth has ever seen. This is why NASA is preparing to create settlements on the red plant in advance in case of global catastrophe.
