My Educational Aspirations To Study International Business

The motto throughout my career has been 'education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world'. I truly believe that education is the key to success. I am enthusiastic towards learning and wish to pursue my educational aspirations in your esteemed university to command the knowledge in the field of international business.

In order to succeed in the age of globalization and interconnected world of international business, one must be able to work across cultures, understand the power of technology, and have the confidence to lead others effectively. The global landscape of today’s business arena is constantly evolving. International business professionals are on the front lines of this exciting industry, and they play a key role in facilitating multicultural commerce on a global level. I graduated in the bachelor of technology in computer science with first class. After the completion of my bachelor's degree, I was recruited at Infosys Pvt Ltd as a Systems Engineer. At Infosys, I am currently working in an account called 'AVON' which is one of the leading direct selling companies in beauty, household, and personal care categories. My project is in charge of the markets of five countries namely Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Czech. Through that project, I came to know how business can be done at an online platform across these countries and gained considerable experience. Although I was in a technical job, I was curious about the logistics of international trade and cross-border investments, the cultural and ethical issues that are imbued in the practice of business around the world. Thus began my interest in international business and the need to pursue a Master in International business from your esteemed university to fulfill my career objectives.

Having a Bachelors in computer science has helped me to widen my horizon with how a problem can be approached. I have been in situations where a problem takes hours to solve with a certain method while with another it just takes nanoseconds. My team projects in college have helped me see my managerial skills. I was leading a 4 member team in my final year project where we faced several obstacles due to the complexity of the problem statement, but with proper analysis, team discussions and making the right decision at the right moment, we were able to complete the project in time and successfully. This is where I learnt that I was equally good in managing as well. The reason I am switching my career to International business is that the IT industry didn't challenge me enough. I was not content with my job because as much as I was decent at the technical side, I had the urge to explore my managerial side as well. I always had the passion to achieve more in life and give back to the society. International business is the right path for me because my ultimate goal is to work in an international environment and studying International business will increase my knowledge of global markets and a broader awareness of the world, its variety of people and cultures and challenge me to approach issues from different perspectives. I want to be in a position where I can take critical decisions, grow with my team, motivate each other and reach success.

From my childhood, I have been relocating within and outside India due to my dad's job. I had studied my 5 years of my high school in Nigeria, which prepared me how to adapt to new surroundings and eventually getting accustomed to a foreign land, both physically and mentally. Moving to new places also has its own challenges, but I have learnt to embrace them. Therefore, if the job involves traveling places internationally, I would look forward to it. The reason for choosing the University of Leeds is threefold. One, your university's MIB programs stand out to me due to its strong course structure. All the nine compulsory modules focus on the international aspects of business and management. Second, the independent project to be submitted at the end of the course, which can either be a dissertation or an internship with an external organization. Both will give me a handful of experience to get me started in the field of international business and progress further. Third, I would be exposed to a wide range of multicultural environment. To study in a world ranking, triple accredited, an award-winning business school would be very valuable.

To summaries, MIB from the University of Leeds is the right place for me to achieve my objectives. Leeds's career and professional development will provide the academic and professional skills I need to enhance my career development. Therefore, I would like the opportunity to be a part of such a prestigious university.
