Global Hunger And Its Prevalence In America
Table of contents
Introduction:
There is a lot of hunger up in the world and a lot of people are least bothered. Hunger defines a short-term bodily pain as an end result of chronic meal shortage, or in extreme cases, a life-threatening lack of food. According to FAO, every day about 795 million humans are malnourished. That means that about one in nine of the over seven billion people on Earth suffer from hunger regularly. They do not get adequate nutritious food to consume every day and eat far much less than the minimal amount of calories essential for sound fitness and growth. Hunger has a bad impact on on health, productivity, standard well-being and experience of hope. I chose this topic to make people realize that we should help these people and to not waste food because some people around the world are in need of it.
Literature Review:
The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that about 815 million humans of the 7.6 billion human beings in the world, or 10.7%, were struggling from chronic undernourishment in 2016. Almost all the hungry people live in lower-middle-income countries. There are eleven million human beings undernourished in developed nations. The vast majority of hungry people live in lower-middle-income regions, which saw a 42 percent reduction in the prevalence of undernourished people between 1990–92 and 2012–14. Despite this progress, in 2016, the global prevalence of undernourishment has been rising. Children are the most visible victims of undernutrition. It is estimated that undernutrition—including stunting, wasting, deficiencies of vitamin A and zinc, and fetal growth restriction (when a baby does not grow to its normal weight before birth)—is a cause of 3·1 million child deaths annually or 45 percent of all child deaths in 2011. We really have to take this problem into consideration because if we don’t it will result in decrease in population and almost the end of the world.
Rational:
In my research paper I will discuss 3 questions. Number 1 why is global hunger a major social problem? Number 2 what is the main cause of hunger? Number 3 how does world hunger affect economy? Poor nutrition due to lack of food leads to bodily weakness which in turn leads to greater susceptibility to illness and death. Thus poor nutrition, as caused by hunger and poverty, is probably the major crippler of poor peoples and probably the major cause of death today in young children. Poverty is the main cause of hunger in the world. This is true in rich and poor countries alike. ... Most people who are hungry are living in extreme poverty, defined as income of $1.25 per day or less. The largest group of people in the world in extreme poverty are smallholder farmers in developing countries. Impacts of Hunger on the Economy. The annual price of meals insecurity is: $130.5 billion due to illness prices linked to hunger and food insecurity. $19.2 billion - fee of negative instructional effects and lower lifetime salary linked to hunger and food insecurity.
Expected results:
There are many more causes of hunger some of them are: poor infrastructure
Conclusion:
Hunger can be viewed as the cause of poverty in such a way that it causes poor health, low levels of energy, and even mental impairment. Due to this fact, hunger can lead to even greater poverty by reducing people's ability to work and learn. Therefore, we may conclude that hunger is one of the causes of poverty.
