Women Who Stood for Their Rights Worldwide

What are women rights?
Women rights are the rights which are given to all women. These rights include the right to live free from violence, slavery, and discrimination, to receive education, to own property, to vote, etc.
How were women treated earlier?
This answer depends on country to country. For example in India, women were treated with respect. Women with exceptional capabilities could deal with men on equal footing. One example of this is provided by Queen Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, who took over the reins of her kingdom after the death of her husband and fought with British (East India Company) to protect her country being taken over by them. Whereas in Arab, women had no status of any kind. A custom of the Arabs was to bury their female newborns alive. Even if an Arab did not wish to bury his daughter alive, he still had to uphold this 'honorable' tradition, being unable to resist social pressures.
Which women stood up for women rights?
Elizabeth Cady Stanton was one of the foremost women's rights activists and philosophers of the 19th century. Stanton continued to push for women's political equality as she believed in a much broader vision of women's rights. She also campaigned against the oppression of women in the name of religion–'From the inauguration of the movement for women's emancipation,' she wrote, 'the Bible has been used to hold her in the ‘divinely ordained sphere''–and in 1895 published the first volume of a more egalitarian Woman's Bible.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and Lucy Stone were important figures in the women's rights movement.
My opinion
Day in day out we hear stereotypes such as 'women can't drive', 'women can't be engineers', 'women can't go out and play sports' and what not. In some scenario, women hear these stereotypes since they were young and now they have narrow minds and can't think beyond the skies. Well, that is exactly what I had to address. When women don't receive equality such as quality education such as men do, they rely on men for certain duties. That's when men receive more power than women. Well, I am here looking for some good reason why women are not given the same rights as men.
Women and men come under the same category, humans, then why are they not given the same rights? Just because the gender is different doesn't give anyone the right to make women dependent on men. Women should be allowed independence and equal freedom as men. Women are as equal and good as men, it's not as if men are given special qualities to act superior. For gender equality, we also need men to support women so that there is a stronger army and one that can defeat the narrow minds of those who oppose gender equality.
