Where Do You See Yourself in 5 Years: Where Is Happiness of Life
Imagine having a life all planned out, then one thing goes wrong. Oe someone passes away or they move, it could be a big or a small change, but any situation could completely alter the outlook on life. One day the glass could be half full, another day it could be half-empty, or there could be no glass at all. Where do you see yourself in 5 years is the key question for my essay, so I will try to answer it, but not directly about myself.
Many people believe that fate is chosen once someone is born. Others believe that you chose a destiny. Whichever is believed in, optimism fits in there somehow. So, one more time, where do you see yourself in 5 years, 10, 20? I bet if you are something like me, a family is wanted, right? You want to be happy and have no fears or worries. I can tell you, that is what most people want. They want a stable career that makes good money, they want what they do not have right now. But education can only get so far, you need to be optimistic about the future and what is in store.
“Hopeful and confident about the future” It is an easy enough definition right? Just make the most out of the situation. What if while constantly trying to optimize, you lose sight of why you did it in the first place? You are trying to be optimistic for the sake of making other people happy without an end goal in sight for yourself. You have given up on making yourself happy, now your only goal is to make others happy. Right now is a great time to change that, you can become who you want to be. Not who others chose to see. Do not let your mother or father tell you what your dreams are. They are mad that they did not have the courage to do what they love. They want to live their dreams through their children.
Most people say “When I grow up I want to be…” but they never actually put their minds to that goal. When you are asked that question next, think long and hard about what you love, not what makes the most money, not what your parents want you to be. Think about how happy you will be, even then you will not be fully there. You need optimism so you are able to tell yourself that you can do it. That you are smart enough, you are strong enough. You can live out your dreams.
As Abraham Lincoln stated, “Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be.” But how does someone approach even the toughest situations with a glass half full attitude and are there truly benefits to being happy? Additionally to live a more positive life, my great grandmother’s favorite catchphrase was, “Laughter is the Best Medicine”. This medicine does not come in the form of a pill or a childproof bottle. This medicine comes from an involuntary physical or emotional stimulation, such as a tickle or funny joke. This medicine comes in the form of choices. Do I want to be a half-empty kind of person or do I want to be a half-full kind of person? This medicine comes in the form of an environment. Do I want to act more serious or do I want to have fun and enjoy the journey?
Beautiful acts of kindness can be as simple as holding the door open for someone who is entering a building before you or paying for a stranger’s meal or bag of groceries. Giving people genuine compliments or a sincere smile is a reflection of your mood. All of these actions are “half full” behaviors, which in turn make you feel better about yourself. The beauty in these acts of kindness is that they become habits, which can easily transform your “half empty” behaviors into something that is constructive, effortless and natural.
This was my 'Where do you see yourself in 5 years' essay example and the key message from me is that through effortless and natural acts of kindness becoming a habitual, it will become easier to overcome the negatives in the world, which are published every day through newspapers and the news on TV. Usually we keep focus on negative sides and stories in the life, but what about all the positives that happen day to day?
