Fast food is terrible for us. Fast foods tend to be high in calories, fat, salt and sugar, which when consumed in excess can be associated with obesity, high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease, among other health risks. Not only do fast foods have lots of calories and fats, they have barely any nutritional values that keep us strong and healthy. Scientists have correlated the dramatic rise in childhood obesity with junk food consumption. Weight gained during youth often persists into adulthood, and it places adults at risk for medical conditions like diabetes. Unhealthy eating also has a surprising effect on mental health. For example, researchers have found a relationship between junk food and violent behavior. Fast-food intake has also been shown to correlate with suicidal thoughts. We need to put a stop to this or slow down the rate of fast food consumption across people, there's already a lot of people.. Fast-food use was reported by 37% of adults and 42% of the children. When a family eats at home they, will pay less than restaurants because when they buy food from the market, they buy for better quality and a better price. When families eat at home, they know everything that has been added in their meal and know the cleanliness of their own kitchen. Moreover, they know if the food was washed and cooked well. At home, they know that the cook has washed his/her hands. They also can control the nutritional value of the meal. Adding more vegetables or switching things out for healthier alternatives.

The cost of cooking at home versus eating out is a game changer. To pay less for more healthier foods, that are better quality is something everyone should be taking advantage of. Why would you want to pay more for low quality foods that ruin your health? It does not make sense. People may say, “I don’t know what to cook or how to cook” this should not be an issue. There are resources all around us; people need to stop being so ignorant and look.

“We are what we eat”, as the saying goes. One’s health depends much on the type and amount of food being consumed. Fast food vs. home cooked, eating in vs. eating out, being careful and attentive to what you eat vs. being indifferent - it all affects the general state of the body. Healthy food provides an organism with essential vitamins and necessary nutrition, keeping the body in shape and preventing diseases. In contrast to healthy food, fast food harms an organism, contaminate it, and leads to serious complications, sometimes even fatal ones.
