The American Freedom Is What Makes America Great
America is one of the greatest countries. America was founded on having freedoms. Americans take many of these freedoms for granted. The Founding Fathers created the Amendments to protect these freedoms. America is great because of these freedoms.
Americans get their freedoms from the United States Constitution. The United States Constitution states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;. or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” In this Amendment it is saying that in America people have the freedom of religion and speech, this makes America great because we are allowed to say whatever we want and believe in whatever we want. The second Amendment states. “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” In this it is saying American citizens have the right to own weapons and to have a regulated militia, this makes America great because we are allowed to own weapons to protect ourselves. The 19th Amendment states, “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex” In this Amendment it is saying that anyone can vote no matter their gender, this makes America great because everyone gets treated equally.
Here is why the Amendments are in place. The Amendments were made to make America more free. The founders of America had valid reasons for putting these amendments in place. The first Amendment is in place to prevent conflict between religion, and also to allow “The citizens to have the right to call the government to account”(Voa). This means that if the Government is doing something unconstitutional Americans can say something about it. The second Amendment is in place because, “The Second Amendment was meant to help people protect themselves from a tyrannical government”(Ducksters). This means it was to help people protect themselves from letting the government gaining complete power, this makes America great because Americans can protect themselves. The 19th Amendment was added to the Constitution because “The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, guaranteeing women the right to vote, is ̈Congress and sent to the states for ratification”(Congress). This amendment gave people the right to vote no matter their gender as long as they are 18 or older, this makes America great because it gives America gender equality which most other countries don't have. Americans have a lot of freedoms that many other countries don't have.
Americans take a lot of their freedoms for granted. Here are a few examples. “In America you’re welcome to name your new baby virtually anything you can think of… in countries like Germany, Japan, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland you’re not allowed to”(Crow). Americans are allowed to name our children whatever they want but in other places you are not allowed to. Another freedom Americans take for granted is, “You’re welcome to style your hair as you see fit in the U.S. in Iran you can get in serious trouble for cuts like the mullet and faux hawks”(Crow).
In other countries you can get in trouble for your hairstyle, Americans take this for granted. Here is another freedom Americans take for granted, “We are able to browse the internet relatively unmonitored compared to other countries”(Crow). Americans take being able to freely search the internet for granted big time. America is great because of our freedoms. Some of our freedoms are the Amendments. The Amendments were made to make America more free Americans have a lot of freedoms that other countries don't that they take for granted. Amendments are our rights, they were made to make America more free, Americans take these for granted. Our freedoms are part of what makes America so great.
