The Reasons Why I Would Make A Good Army Officer

Before I explain why I feel like I would make a good officer I want express the gratitude I have for this organization, how it’s influenced my life, and the great things it has to offer its members. To start off I want to say how thankful I am for this organization because it makes me feel like I’m a part of something bigger. I am grateful for everything it’s taught from leadership trainings to competitions and having the confidence to stand before a room of recruits to give a presentation about why they should join FFA.

FFA has impacted my life in numerous ways such as it teaches you to learn from your mistakes, acknowledge them, and correct them. I also feel FFA has given me a purpose, it’s given me something to wake up every day with a passion to do. It shows me day in and out how amazing it is. Some benefits of ​being involved as a member are getting a better understanding of what place you want to have within the growth of the chapter and its future success. How to plan an event and see everyone come together to make it happen.

I feel if you are running for any type of election or official position, you should apply because you believe you can make a difference in other people’s lives and not just the title you’ll acquire from it. Being a leader means you are willing to sacrifice yourself for other’s needs. Even though I am still young and have much to learn, I understand why I want to be a leader and what a true leader should look like.

Growing as an individual you see the importance of life and everything that comes with it. This organization has helped me develop and improve my leadership skills but it’s also shown me to be compassionate with others even if they don’t deserve it. This program creates our future doctors, lawyers, and boundary breakers.

To me being a good officer is much more than being popular or speaking in front of large crowds. Good officers should have the ability to impact and inspire you as an individual. I feel the qualities a great officer should possess are honesty, communication skills, selflessness, and respectfulness. Honesty because I feel you need to be honest for a person to trust you. Being honest means people will always listen to what you have to say and see the different outlooks you have.

Being able to communicate effectively is the most important of all. It is what enables us to pass information to other people and what is said to us. Having the ability to communicate well is a big factor within FFA because of all the people you have to talk to old and new. FFA allows you to meet people from different chapters, areas, and even states but without communication how will you be able to interact with them? Selflessness is a good trait to have because while serving as an officer you need to put other people’s wishes before yours no matter what. Having that ability means you are giving to others without looking for personal gain

Being respectful ties in with all these because showing respect to everyone is very important it shows the kind of person you are even if they don’t respect you. I feel being an officer means you are obligated to give respect to everyone to no matter the circumstance is because it shows you’re the bigger person. FFA is my passion and has made me the person I am today. Being this person has made me ready for a great opportunity like this. To serve.
