The Age Of The Earth: Creation Vs. Evolution

There are four great questions of life that everyone asks. The questions are; Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here? And where am I going when I die? These questions are answered completely different depending on if you are an evolutionist or a creationist. In this paper, I will explain how creationism is factual by explaining the two opposing topics, the faults in evolution, and give factual/biblical evidence behind creationism.

Evolution did not start with Charles Lyell or Charles Darwin, it started with Satan. In Isaiah 14:1-14 it shows how Satan wants to be God yet knows he cannot, which makes him hate us since we are created in God’s image. This caused him to lie to Eve in the Garden of Eden by telling her that she can become like God, as explained in Genesis 3:5. This is where evolution began, Satan convinced Eve she could eat the forbidden fruit and evolve into a god. Satan has taken a toll on science by helping form the idea of Evolution. Evolution can be defined as the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth. There are many different meanings for the word “evolution” which are Cosmic Evolution: the origin of time; space and matter (Big Bang), Chemical Evolution: the origin of higher elements from hydrogen; Stellar and Planetary Evolution: origin of stars and planets; Organic Evolution: origin of life (evolves with the environment); Macro Evolution: Changing from one kind to another (Darwinism): and Micro-Evolution: variations within kinds (change in gene frequency). The Theory of Evolution presents that we all came from a big bang and the earth was formed out of remnants of that explosion. After the formation of the earth, we then evolved from different animals (especially monkeys/apes). The idea of humans evolving from animals was presented in 1859 by Charles Darwin when he created “The Origin of Species”, which is what we see in our science textbooks today. Evolution presents the idea that over time every living thing evolves.

Did you know that the word “Universe” is derived from two Latin words? “Uni”, which means single and “verse” which means spoken sentence. Creationism began with God in Genesis 1:3, which is a single spoken sentence that says, “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” Creationists believe that God created the earth in six days. Oxford Dictionary defines creationism as the belief that the universe and living organisms originate from specific acts of divine creation, as in the biblical account, rather than by natural processes such as evolution. Creationists live by the Bible because they believe it’s their manual for life. Creationists use this Bible to determine right from wrong since it is the Word of God. While evolutionists use their textbooks to see how the earth began, Creationists use the Bible to see how God created the earth.

There are six different types of evolution which are cosmic, chemical, stellar and planetary, organic, macro-evolution, and micro-evolution. Only one of these types of evolution is scientific. Micro-Evolution is the only type of evolution that is scientific and has been observed. We see Micro-Evolution in many ways, such as dog breeds, horse breeds, cat breeds, and many more. But none of these other types of evolution have been observed. Cosmic Evolution (Big Bang) was not observed because according to the scientists, we were all still considered nothing when this happened. Chemical Evolution was not observed because according to scientists, the Big Bang produced hydrogen and helium but those are the only two elements mentioned; it is not scientific that helium and hydrogen can evolve into an element like uranium or iron. Stellar and Planetary Evolution was not observed because no one has ever seen a star form, as stated by Martin Hawit in Science vol. 231 where he says, “The universe we see when we look out to its furthest horizons contains a hundred billion galaxies. Each of these galaxies contains another hundred billion stars. That’s 10² stars all told. The silent embarrassment of modern astrophysics is that we do not know how even a single one of these stars managed to form.” Organic Evolution was not observed because there is no evidence of life forming from non-living material, which The Conservation of Mass-Energy states that matter is neither created nor destroyed proves Organic evolution wrong. Macro-Evolution was not observed because no one has seen a certain type of animal produce a totally different type of animal, for example, a cat will not give birth to a horse at any point in time because it is a different species. God created things to be in a family and if you try to crossbreed a tiger and a lion and it produces a liger, the liger is sterile; this is the same situation as horses and donkeys producing a sterile mule. Micro-Evolution is the only observable scientific evolution. A chihuahua and a bulldog look completely different but they are both the same type of animal. What evolutionists like to do is take the reliable science of Micro-Evolution and use it as evidence to show the other types of evolution are correct, even though they are nothing alike. As much as evolutionists do not want to believe it, they are just as religious as creationists. Cosmic, Chemical, Stellar and Planetary, Organic, and Macro Evolution are all a religious outlook, while the only scientific one is Micro-Evolution.

Albert Einstein once said, “The more I study science, the more I believe in God.” Einstein was known for his influence on the philosophy of science. There is evidence that historically the Bible is correct, while there is no evidence for evolution. There are 27,000 copies of the New Testament scrolls existing to this day, and 6,000 of those were written in Greek, in which is the original language the New Testament was written. The remaining 21,000 were written in various languages; still, there was less than one half of one percent of variation in all of them combined, which are mostly typos from the original text. Another piece of evidence for the Bible is the Dead Sea Scrolls, which contained every book from the Old Testament except Esther. What about the existence of dinosaurs? Evolutionists believe that the dinosaurs lived billions of years ago, while creationists point to observable evidence that dinosaurs lived with humans and were created with all the other animals. This is all to say, how could you have all this evidence and more that shows the bible is truthful and not believe the whole thing? This includes the creation story. The evidence has been shown, and there is more out there in the world that all points to an intelligent God being the one who created the heavens and the earth.

If you were an evolutionist the four questions of life would be answered in this way: If evolution is true you are nothing important, just a protoplasm that had washed up on the beach. If evolution is true you came from a cosmic burp billions of years ago with no significance. If evolution were to be true you would have no purpose to life, you’d just be here for no reason at all. If evolution is true then when you die you will go in the ground and stay there until you get recycled into a worm or a plant. Why make the complexity and beauty of the earth so insignificant? Why make yourself so insignificant by believing evolution when there’s evidence to prove otherwise? Not many people might think this but evolution is for the pessimist of the world, to just believe everything has nothing special to it or any significance. I choose to believe otherwise.
