Succeeding As A Healthcare Administrator: Why I Want To Be A Healthcare Administrator

When pursuing a career in Healthcare Administration, it is important to map out of plan of how you will be successful in your field and what goals you want to accomplish along your path to success. As a Healthcare Administrator it will be my responsibility to provide leadership to other healthcare professionals. Providing leadership comes with the role of communication, which plays a huge role in running an effective healthcare facility (CCCK Online, 2016). As long as I am delivering the best leadership and communication then I can establish a great team of professionals. We can all come together to come up with ideas, responsibilities, and ideas to make sure our facility and patients are in good hands.

As Healthcare Administrator I should provide feedback and also receive it. Therefore, everyone can educate themselves and others on how they can improve in certain areas of their work. I would also seek leadership of my own from my mentor. My mentor is Dr. Marius McFarland of McFarland Family Clinic in Louisiana. He has had his facility for over 30 years and he will be able to help and educate me on how I can improve. Seeking advice will help keep accountability for the actions I take to help in running a successful facility. I would love to be a Healthcare Administrator in a plastic surgeon office. I have done a few of internships for plastic and cosmetic surgeons, which has gained my interest in working in that specialty of medicine. The mission statement for our facility would be, “ Providing patients with top quality care and respect. When you’re a patient at Plastic’s Best, you will be treated with the upmost care from our surgeons and staff. We will always put you first as a priority and exceed your expectations.” Our mission statement stands out because we assure our patients that are main focus is them and what they want. This mission statement should provide honesty so when future and current patients read it they know and feel that they are in the right and best care. The mission statement should be stated every day with employees together to make sure that we adhere to what is stated so that the facility remains trustworthy.

When running any business, it is very important to acknowledge any problems or occurrences that may happen in the future such as financial affairs. The community of your business will affect that which includes our stakeholders. The stakeholders of our facility include our patients, healthcare employees (including myself), and our shareholders. With our customers, it is very important that we provide the best care and facility conditions. If our customer is not satisfied or has a negative experience it is a reflection of us, which could affect our finances, which affects our employees and shareholders. Our employees are affected if our company is not succeeding in business because it affects the security of their jobs. Also, when shareholders get notice of a declining business it affects them the most. They provided the initial investment and own a share of the company. If we are succeeding in our business then it will drastically affect them. Using data and research will also provide the best success for business because it provides confirmation. The data and research found by myself and other healthcare employees will address any concerns and issues so we are able to create a plan to avoid them based off that information. That’s why with our mission statement we must maintain it and represent it wholeheartedly. Our mission statement represents our goal and is provided to our patients. It’s a small vision that we give to the people who read and hear it and it is our responsibility to deliver the big vision to make it a reality.

In conclusion, becoming a Healthcare Administrator comes with a lot of responsibilities but comes with rewards of not only helping your patients but also the people around you. With my strategic plan for our healthcare facility we will be able to succeed in our facility. The plan will help fulfill a future positive impact on our patients, healthcare employees, and stakeholders as one healthcare organization. Our customers will know that they are in the finest, professional, premier facility. Which will create positive environment for everyone.
