National Honor Society As A Prestigious Organization
Being in a prestigious organization like The National Honor Society exhibits that you are among the best students in your class, not just academically but concerning leadership, service, and character. It challenges students to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service to impact themselves and their community. It symbolizes being exceptional and eminent because you are provided with opportunities to reach your greatest potential in school and life. The leadership skills I could gain from the National Honor Society would greatly benefit my character and scholastic abilities, allowing me to influence people that I encounter more positively.
Through my enrollment at Barbers Hill, I have aspired to achieve excellence so I can acquire the fundamental skills necessary to pursue a career in business. I plan to further expand my business study and minor in real estate to apply theoretical and analytical concepts of finance to real estate lending, investment, and development. Having this ambition to positively influence how society operates has opened my eyes to be aware of the needs of others and the resources available to meet those needs. I believe that demonstrating the highest standards of honesty and reliability can get you leading positions that contribute to the greater good of society. Showing civility and respect for my community has increased my sense of social responsibility.
Every year LyondellBasell puts on an event to preserve our global environment, and my family has gotten a chance to go to an elementary school and clean a pond, paint bleachers at a public softball park, and even plant trees and flowers at a nature reserve. Since taking part in these service projects, I have learned that I love being able to strengthen my character but at the same time do good for the general public. Spending time with people that experience the same compassion and kindness has taught me to uphold principles of morality and ethics, and it has allowed me to see things from different perspectives. Handing out Christmas presents to needy families for Goodfellows was one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had because it improved my temperance and I became more humble and prudent. I have truly grown from working in new environments and with different people.
If I am eligible to join the NHS, I will be able to advance my skills in leadership and make my community a better place. I will get recognition for my accomplishments and the opportunity to work with students that have resembling motivation like me, and I will get a chance to show my strength as an adolescent through my hard work and dedication in my studies at school and my service as an individual.
