What is the meaning of a mass shooting and manifesto? Mass shooting is defined as an incident in which there are multiple victims of firearm violence. Also, with the FBI it defines a “mass murder” in which there is four or more murders during an event with one after another. According to Merriam-Webster the definition of a manifesto is “a written statement declaring publicly the intention, motives, or views of its issuer, be it an individual, group, political party or government.” All around the world today we see that in the past years there have been many mass shootings with some before the shooting, writing a manifesto or taking videos before the incident occurring.

Manifesto’s are written by people who think that they were born and raised in this life for nothing and make mistakes without knowing that it will cost them their life.

The manifesto written by the El Paso shooter Patrick Crusius was shown to be the point of him telling his motive behind him shooting all these people and mostly aimed at Hispanics and Mexican Hispanics. In his manifesto the “Inconvenient Truth” it to be the “Hispanic invasion of Texas” and that he was just trying to protect his country and ethnicity by killing and injuring many Hispanics, so that they do not invade the Texans territory. Patrick had written in his manifesto that his motive behind this attack was not for his personal wants, but also, he had targeted only Hispanic people because he got the idea from The Great Replacement. His written manifesto will be shown by each part of the reason that he attacked starting at political and economic reasons behind the attack, my gear, the reaction that he wants people to have when he starts shooting and his own personal motivations and thoughts.

The political reasons behind the attack was to show that for how long the republic and democrats have failed to make the world a better place. According to Crusius, “Due to the death of the baby boomers, the increasingly anti-immigrant rhetoric of the right and the ever increasing Hispanic population, America will soon become a one party-state.” this acknowledges us to know that throughout these 3 years the U.S has become a horrible place because of the president wanting to build the wall to being of having more Hispanics in the country, and soon we will see that the U.S. has no more democrat or republic. He says that soon the U.S. will be filled with Democrats since it has a lot of Hispanics in the voting and according to him, “They intend to use open borders, free healthcare for illegals, citizenship and more to enact a political coup by importing and then legalizing millions of new voters.” This shows us by his thinking is that since this is what they intend to do, then there will be a lot of Hispanics and since this happened in Texas, which Texas has the largest population of Hispanics, they will all vote to stand by democrats and Crusius did not want this. This also has evidence to him thinking that Democrats intend to implement open borders, provide free healthcare to illegal immigrants, grant them citizenship, and carry out a political coup, 'importing and then legalizing millions of new voters.'To him as much as bad the Republic party was there were some facts in which made him think a little better for them, since Republican’s had made new immigration and corporation rules. He believes that soon enough Texas will transform into a Democratic state which will be in the hold of Hispanic population.

The economic reasons behind the attack was to show that we can see how the government today is against all immigrations steps. Also he talks about how soon people will have no jobs and will be mostly living in poverty. 'In less than two decades, half of American jobs will be lost to it [automation].' He even points out that the 'invaders,' who have very high birth rates compared to other ethnicities, will take up American jobs, which will make a problem and it will effect of automation on job opportunities. Even now we can see that in America people do live in poverty because since 2016 when President Trump sat in the White House people started losing jobs and all the president did was try and build up a border and not fixing the other problems. In the U.S. we can see many migrants working and to Crusuis it is that the migrants are doing the “dirty jobs.” According to the Inconvenient Truth, “Even though new migrants do the dirty work, their kids typically don’t. They want to live the American Dream which is why they get college degrees and fill higher-paying skilled positions.” Therefore the corporations there is shows us that the government does not want to raise the pay of work, but they only keep it minimum wage.

In the Inconvenient Truth, Crusuis states that the gear he had used was an AK47 (WASR10) rifle. He states that “I have done this before I lose my nerve. I figured that an under-prepared attack and a meh manifesto is better than no attack and no manifesto.” Therefore, this shows us that he really was not prepared for the attack and he did not know what awaits for him but he still did it. This also shows that he spent only about less than a month to prepare for this shooting action because he wanted to do it as soon as possible. The rifle he had used is one that will round up upto 100 ammo and he will need to use an heat-resistant glove.

The reaction Crusuis wanted to get was horror in all the people. He wants the Hispanic population to be scared and to get out of Texas. He states, “This is an encouraging sign that the Hispanic population is willing to return to their home countries if given the right incentive. An incentive that myself and many other patriotic Americans will provide.” Overall the reaction he wanted the Hispanic population to get was horror and for them to run away from Texas as far as they could, to not get to vote in the bloc.

Crusius personal reasons and thoughts behind his actions was sent out a message to everyone. Crusius thinking of taking the action into his hands to shoot people down was because he thought “Hispanics will take control of the local and state government of my beloved Texas, changing policy to better suit their needs. They will turn Texas into an instrument of a political coup which will hasten the destruction of our country.” Nevertheless Crusuis thoughts is that the Hispanic population is going to take over Texas and all of the Hispanics will have control of what goes on in Texas. Before taking into action in his manifesto he states he is expecting to die in the attack or 'If I'm not killed by the police, then I'll probably be gunned down by one of the invaders. Capture in this case is far worse than dying during the shooting because I'll get the death penalty anyway. Worse still is that I would live knowing that my family despises me.' Furthermore he does know that with the actions he took, how whole family will never forgive him and will disown him because of planning an attack like that only on the Hispanic population. Also, in his personal motivation at the end of his manifesto he gives different ideas to other people that plan to take out an action like his He states “Don’t attack heavily guarded areas to fulfill your super soldier COD fantasy. Attack low security targets. Even though you might out gun a security guard or policeman, they likely beat you in armor, training and numbers.” This acknowledges the people reading his manifesto and planning an action like this to attack in places that there is not a lot of guards or police officers.

The second manifesto written by John T. Earnest was to show a point of his attack was that he was inspired to do. John T. Earnest was a 19 year old nursing student at the California State University San Marcos, when he had put the action of shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue, near San Diego, which only injured three and killed one. In his manifesto he claimed that before he had burned the mosque in Escondido, which as soon as it happened people had to extinguished others from the scene. His manifesto was published in 8chan under the title of “An Open Letter” at exactly the time it happened. He had his plan shortly after the two Christchurch, New Zealand shootout that was carried out by Brenton Tarrant. The reasons behind the attack is his identity, European descent, Christianity, political and racial views, the motivation behind his attack, family, what inspired to attack, and the goal he wants to reach.

His identity is that he grew up in San Diego, where he had graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. He was said to live with his parents around the Freeport Court, San Diego and he had attended the Escondido Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Earnest had two main identity roots, which was half being European and Christian races. In his source he states that the two things keeping him in this is piano and video games. He claims to like Beethoven’s as a source of inspiration, and Chopin's Scherzo No. 2 as well, which is a favorite piece to play. Video games in the manifesto are shown to be indirect because he uses video games to show real life problems. He refers to the video game Minecraft twice throughout the manifesto. The first time is to show the list of advice or when it is time to make a decision.

The European descents is shown by him saying that he is a man of the European ancestry. According to “An Open Letter”, “The blood that runs in my veins is the same that ran through the English, Nordic, and Irish men of old. I am a descendant of one of the original colonists of Roanoke—John Earnest.” This acknowledges that to him he is a descendant of an original country around the 16th century. Then he says that in reality he is truly happy to have a magnificent bloodline. He goes on to state 'Why are you doing this? [meaning the attack] Surely killing a fraction of Jews will not solve any problems. Are there not better ways to save the European race?' Furthermore to the question he asks and he answers it himself. He says that it can be both yes and no because of three important roles to be put in the revolution. One is to have people tell the truth to others, second is to those who belive in their own race, and third is for others who have babies to show their race more. He say there is not much done to protect his own race
