As voice searches reach 50% of all searches in 2020 (a 250% increase from current day), the investments in voice market will likely increase by a similar margin as well.   1. Determining the amount of current marketers planning investment was done by taking the high and low estimates from multiple sources (39% and 33%, respectively) and setting them as the estimate range for that fact.
  2. Determining the amout of decision makers who have invested (67%) was done by summing the survey respondants who indicated that they were planning to invest in any way. So I summed them: 35+18+14=673 Finding average investment (25.25%) required weighting the percent investment from a histogram in source 3. Each interval was given an average value (ex, 1-10 would have an average of (10+1)/2, or 5.5) and then multiplied by the percent of results which fell into that interval, as such: "Percentage of Budget Organizations Exploring Voice-Activated Technologies Plan to Invest1-10% 37%11-25% 28%26-50% 22%. More than 50% 13%". So I did this:(10+1)/2 = 5.5(11+25)/2 = 18(26+50)/2 = 38(51+100)/2 = 75.55.5*.37+18*.28+38*.22+75.5*.13 = 25.254.

Predicting the fact that voice investment will grow in the next 3-5 years was mainly based on the fact that many marketers were "planning to invest" and the fact that voice searches are predicted to increase by a large margin. Marketing via searches is very important, so the assumption is that as searches via vioce increase, the focus on marketing via voice will as well, since marketers are aware of the importance of marketing via searches.
