An Integral Role Of Morality In Islam Religion

Morality plays a vital role in Islam because a person without morality is like a person without a heart or brain. Besides, the better morality and behaviour a Muslim have in his character, a better and practicing Muslim he becomes. Moreover, what is more important is that man's sense of morals characteristics which distinguish him from other creatures. For instance, animals neither know morals nor are responsible in the same way as man is in being able to differentiate between what is good and what is bad and evil.

As Allah mention in Surah An-nisa verse 36 “Serve Allah, and join not any partners with Him; and do good to parents, orphans, those in need, neighbors who are of kin and neighbors who are strangers, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (yet meet), and what your right hands possess: for Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vain glorious". From this verse it is clearly seen that it is indicated to the good morals of the believers and advising them to do some good behaviors. Muslims are required to be kind to all the people around them. The emphasis on gentle treatment of parents, relatives, orphans, women, children, elderly, sick, and animals.

However, it is clearly seen that Muslim nowadays have moral absence in their everyday life and these moral values are slowly diminishing over the years. Helping each other out, people taking responsibility for their own actions and there seems to be a numerous of people who do not seem to care about anyone but themselves and who absolutely refuse to accept consequences for their own behavior. The moral decadence is one of the declining factor of islamic civilization.

The cause of moral decadence are lack of parent control, lack of discipline, social media and so on. Parents are the first teacher of their children, to this extent parents should teach their children to do good things and whenever a child does something wrong, they should let the child know what they are doing is wrong. Parents should train and educate their children right from childhood on the need for proper moral conscience. Moreover, social media has affected negatively people nowadays especially teenagers by movies they watch and what they see on social media. They try to imitate other people’s lifestyle which is playing a vital role in their lifestyle, leading them off the path. People with a bad character not only harm other people or society, but also himself. When they tell lies, does unjust deeds, hates, deceives and betrays others, surely loses the trust and respect of others.

Due to this reasons, when the Muslims started forgetting that they are the followers of Islam and they actually stopped obeying the guidelines of Islam and started taking more than required interest in worldly things, and lost their connection from Allah. From there, the decline was unavoidable.
