Warren Bennis, in his quote, insists on giving it all and becoming complete without holding anything. There are many styles of leadership that people draw points from, and through this, anyone can easily practice and become a leader. However, good leadership not only involves working according to the guidelines but the desire and will to be fully effective. Some people may consider a leader to be one who can take them out of hardship; some think of them as people who help realize dreams while others see leaders as people who devise strategies and help achieve them. However, I believe being a leader goes a notch higher by becoming someone complete. I have to envision myself as a leader and not wait to be seen by others. What does being a leader mean to me? Having a vision, working towards the manifestation of this vision, embracing what I am becoming, and enjoying the process are the major things I consider in my journey as a leader.

My vision as a leader has to manifest through my beliefs, actions, values, and goals, among others. My vision is to attain a top leadership position in my workplace that gives me the chance to manage every sector effectively. By achieving such a status, I can put into work all the gifts that I have, apply all the skills, and channel all my energy in the process. As a leader, I chose to make my vision manifest through setting goals and priorities by personally developing what an ideal organization should look like in the future. In this case, becoming my authentic self means that I should be comfortable with the goals I create even for myself and my subordinates.

I am becoming a leader by understanding my strengths and alternatively helping people understand their own. I work in a busy environment where, as a leader, my main focus is to unleash all my potential. I only achieve this by also helping others understand their strengths. Also, I am becoming myself being curious and learning. I don't hold back on learning that presents in multiple ways. I give my all by asking questions that evoke the urge for change. To champion my position as a leader, I strive to try out something new. As the saying goes, one should only be afraid not to try. Trying calls for consistency and consistency calls for the push to keep trying. The new things are not only limited to new strategies but range from new procedures and products that have the ability to generate success.

My process of becoming involves the steps I make toward achieving the goals of being a great leader. I am enjoying my process of becoming by placing focus on my intentions as I create outcomes that manifest what I put my attention to. My process of becoming also involves me delivering my gifts to my work. I feel the more I perform my role as a leader, the more I develop joy and enjoy my work. The happiness I feel while becoming is transferred to my subordinates, thereby improving their work satisfaction. I am enjoying my evolution as a leader by getting involved on the ground level. This involves sitting with my subordinates so I can connect with them and get the feeling of what they go through.

To sum up, becoming a leader involves becoming myself and entirely use my gifts, skills, and energies to make my vision manifest. As a leader, one must withhold nothing and must generally become the person they started to be and to enjoy the process of becoming. I have learned to apply this definition to practice since it is the best way to achieve a perfect holistic leadership role. My initial interpretation of leadership was simply someone who guides and directs their peers while providing an open forum for corrections and reformation. However, my knowledge has significantly evolved since I now understand that leadership goes beyond giving direction but is about giving it my all and entirely making manifest my vision. As a leader, I know that my vision as a leader has to manifest through my beliefs, actions, values, and goals. Also, as a leader, I achieve the process of becoming by understanding my strengths and alternatively helping people understand their own. Having a vision, working towards the manifestation of this vision, embracing what I am becoming, and enjoying the process are the major things I consider in my journey as a leader.
