Walt Disney once said, “Happiness is a state of mind. It's just according to the way you look at things.” Many people always see things differently, but when it comes to famous people like Walter Elias Disney, he could be seen in two different ways. Disney was known as an innovative successful man seeing his dreams come true. Disney was also a beloved person everyone loved to be around. However, Disney was accused of many racisms in his movies and being a Nazi-sympathizer. On one hand, Disney was a person who was legendary with lots of success in his life. At the 26th Academy Award, Disney was nominated and won four awards that night. Even though Disney was a busy and successful man, he always did his best to bring more guests to the theme park. As Disney once “Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends”. On the other hand, Disney was accused of many things, including racism. Disney had many embedded instances of racism since the film Dumbo. Disney had a crow in the film named Jim Crow which is named after the state and local laws that reinforced segregation throughout the early-mid 20th centuries. Also in the film, black men are singing simply about being worked to death and calling each other apes: “Work and laugh the whole night long/ You happy-hearted roustabouts!/ Pullin’, poundin’, tryin’, groundin’/ Big top roundin’ into shape/ Keep on working!/ Stop that shirking!/ Grab that rope, you hairy ape!” (Song Of The Roustabouts Lyrics by Disney).

The film “Song of the south” was so offensive that the Disney Company will no longer let it be seen in public. Although Disney has many racial stereotypes in his films, the debate on Disney's racism continues to this day. In addition, Disney was also accused of being a Nazi-sympathizer. Even though there was not actual proof, he left films and actions that made people think he was. One of Disney's animator claimed to see Disney attending Nazi organization all of the time. Later on “Walt Disney gave Hitler's pet filmmaker, Leni Riefenstahl, a tour of his studio”. Also Disney released anti-German propaganda films for example, Three little pigs, and Donald Duck in Naziland.

In conclusion Disney lived out his dream and the impossible things never stood in the way. In spite of all the facts and rumors about Disney, no one but him would know the truth. Sometime life is hard but you just have to keep swimming.
