The Inherent Good and Evil of Humanity in The Breadwinner
Is humanity really good? Do you think that people running around hurting people is good? I do not believe that hurting people is good but I do agree that humanity is good. Even though there are shootings and bad things happen, a ton of good things happen too. It’s just that you only see the bad things on the news. Today, I am going to be writing about why I think that humanity is good.
Humanity is inherently good in the book The Breadwinner. The Breadwinner is a sad book about the life of a 11 year old girl in Afghanistan named Parvana. During Parvana’s life she has to make a lot of tough decisions. Some of which put her in danger like when she was digging up bones for money. During her journeys Parvana meets lot’s of nice people that help her. Parvana’s life is made easier by all of the amazing people around her. An example would be Mrs. Weera. She stuck with Parvana’s family through the book even though that made her life harder. I think that people like Mrs. Weera are why humanity is good. All of the people who help Parvana in the Breadwinner are good people. If you think about it imagine how hard it would be to be Parvana in the Breadwinner. Parvana’s life would be harder than it already is if people weren’t willing to treat Parvana right. Parvana dressed up as a boy during the book which shows her courage. The people in Afghanistan show that humanity is good and not bad.
The conflict in the middle east is the Taliban. The Taliban are a rebel group that have taken over part of Afghanistan. The Taliban don’t treat women as well as men and won’t let them walk on the streets. Even though the Taliban are bad people there are still good people in Afghanistan that helped while the Taliban were in Afghanistan. Malala Yousafzai is a peace activist that from Pakistan. She has won the nobel peace prize and keeps on striving to help young girls. I think that Malala is a great example of why humanity is good and not bad. She had fight through a lot of though times and many people supported her. Malala had to have a lot of courage during that time because she had a lot of decisions to make. She even got shot in the head standing up for women's rights. Malala had so much dedication that one bullet couldn’t have stopped her. She ended up getting out of the hospital and kept on standing up for her and other girls rights. Malala shows that even though the Taliban are taking over Afghanistan needs a voice and they need to find someone brave enough to be that voice and stand up. Malala is one of the reasons that I believe that humanity is inherently good.
Humanity is inherently good in the Holocaust. I do not think that the event of the Holocaust is good some of the people did good things. For example many German families let in the Jews during the Holocaust. All of the families who hid the Jews in there basement had to take a terrible risk. If they got caught they would be killed along with the Jew. I think that the Germans made a great decision to help the Jews out and it showed a lot of courage. I think that if there were more German families like that I think that a lot less Jews could have died and the Holocaust could have ended quicker. Another thing that I think that the Germans could have is helped the Jews stand up. If everybody stood together than maybe the German Army might have backed down. I do think that that would be very hard to convince people to do, but if you find the right people you they might be able to convince everyone. Some people also think that the Holocaust was a good thing. I definitely don’t believe them but I do believe that humanity is good. Some people who believe that the holocaust is good argue that they needed it or the population would grow too big. I think that that is a terrible way to think of it considering the fact that 6 million Jews died during the Holocaust! Many people were affected by the Holocaust not just in Germany but all over Europe. Jews in places such as Poland, Belgium and France were taken to Either Germany, Austria and Poland. In Germany and Austria they bring the Jews to concentration camps where they worked until they died. At concentration camps the people who were there usually made uniforms or boots. In Poland there are death camps were they just bring them to Poland to die. Another way that the Jews discriminated was by colour of hair and colour of eyes. The Germans would treat people with blue eyes and blonde hair the best. If a Jew had blonde hair and blue eyes they would treat them badly.
