The Fatality Of Ebola Disease To Humans

Ebola is a rare, often considered as a fatal disease in humans. discovered at the first time in 1976 by Ebola river, it is caused by five Ebola virus species. Ebola is a highly infectious disease which spreads to people by contact with the blood, skin or bodily fluids of an infected animal, which later on moves from person to another in the same way (Dersarkissian,2017). Unfortunately, there is no cure discovered for Ebola yet. Therefore, the authorities focused on controlling and reducing the spread of Ebola by some measures. 

According to the world health organization (WHO) the effective measures to control the transmission, needs to begin within the health care settings. Firstly, use standard precaution for all patients regardless of the signs and symptoms and making sure of hand hygiene in every step when treating the patient. Secondly, isolate suspect cases in single isolation rooms, separate from confirmed cases and ensure that at least one-meter distances between patient beds. Dedicate care equipment to suspect cases ideally to each patient. Thirdly, ensure safe handling of laboratory samples. 

Fourthly, safe care of the dead bodies and only trained staff should handle the recommended procedure for burial while taking into consideration culture and religious aspects or concerns. Finally, taking care of and evaluate exposure incidents of health care workers or any person to blood or body fluids from the confirmed or suspect patient. These measurements showed a successful control to about twenty Ebola outbreaks (Beth p.et.all, 2016). On the other hand, not all strategies appear to be effective. Due to the failure of the national health services and infrastructures, the Ebola virus was able to spread in western Africa so massively. For a long period of time, people did not have enough knowledge about protecting themselves. The very best protection against epidemics are providing a good education system and health services, with functioning infrastructures (Kuhn,2015). 

However, to achieve these goals it well takes too long and cost a lot. Integrating of pandemic prevention into all parts of development aid is a more fast and effective measurement. Executing small, and simple measures in the areas that are affected by outbreaks will help avoiding dangerous pathogens (Kuhn, 2015). The other strategy to reduce transmission is providing basic personal protective equipment (PPE) to the families while treating themselves on their own. However, this strategy showed to be as not very effective measurement because even the professionals find it difficult to use the PPE safely. And it requires a lot of staffs for training families, which the areas that are affected with the outbreaks do not have.
