What duty, honor, country means to me? It means that you have duties to this country and that you have to honor this country because people have did so much for us in this country. This can make me a better person with this country, because I can help this country out the best way I can. I can become a better citizen to this country, because you can do anything they say to help out with this country. Like you should want to do something for this country, because this is our country that people are fighting for everyday. People out here fighting everyday for our country, and we can do something to make our country better. It don’t have to be something major but it can be something small to help our country out in every which way. The littlest thing can make our country way better than what it is now. We can make our country better by making ourselves better. If each of us learn to behave, be honest to ourselves, appreciate people, around us for their hard work irrespective of their color, cast, race ect., maintain our health, earn a honest living, love what we do and every day help someone, will not only lead to the betterment of our country but it will improve the whole world. You can clean your local environment (street, neighborhood, city, etc.) and free it of litter and garbage. You can also volunteer for state-wide or nation-wide garbage collecting. You can reduce, reuse, and recycle as well to help lower the amount of waste. Spread the word!

Politics:

If you feel that there needs to be change in your city's, state's, or even country's government, run for office! Spread your ideas on how to better the country, create laws and policies to better the country, etc. You could also send letters to your congressmen in office about your ideas instead of running.

Military:

For those die-hard patriots who want nothing more but to secure safety for their nation, joining the military is for you. You could join the military for practically anything, it doesn't have to be for fighting overseas. But just being a part of the military gives you that sense of doing good for your country and making it a better place.

Volunteering/Donating:

You could volunteer for endless types of work. Whether it's giving food to the hungry/homeless, building homes for needy people, sending clothes to needy people, donating to charities, etc., volunteer and help your fellow citizens. You may also volunteer and donate on a world-wide level. Stop to blame others- especially politician (I am not saying politician are doing great in our country. But the fact is we are doing nothing for country. We are only talking about our rights and we directly blame them for all the wrong doings but never realize we have civic responsibility too.

  1. Stop talking the work, rather start working the talk. There are enough advices, unsolicited may be, from our side. Let’s start doing something for once in real.
  2. Small step-Massive outcome: let’s start collecting say Rs: 10 each month from our pocket.

If we are 100 in no’s in group, then it would be 10,000 each month. It can ensure the primary school education for at least 50 people back in our country each month. These were some of the minor problems pointed out which have when talked about seem to be very huge. The problem lies within us. Also, if everyone would spend as much time trying to improve them as they do noticing and/or picking apart. It’s not okay when you switch on the TV to find out that someone you know has become a victim of target killing. It’s not okay to see that because it leaves you with a hundred unanswered questions about why you are still living in this country after faults & shortcomings.

In international relations we learn that the basic unit of the whole system is a country which comprises nation and state… Nation denotes a people who are believed to or deemed to share common customs, origins, and history; and state refers to the set of governing and supportive institutions that have sovereignty over a definite territory and population. However, in Pakistan one gets killed for belonging to a certain ethnicity, for speaking your mind about religion, for being poor, for being honest, for being rational and with all that happening there is no writ of the government. Many of us want to migrate and most of them succeed in doing so because at the end they all have to say is why live in a country which does not provide you with the security of yourself. We as a country have to and should join hands because we represent our country in a better way than anyone else. With all I have said so far we still move forward with the same turtle speed. Of a thousand mile must begin with a single step. Let's join hands to make our country a better place to live in.
