My Volunteering Experience: Describing the Impact of Volunteering

Academically, I have always been a very committed and hard-working student; therefore, I knew that a university degree would be the logical next move. I have a wide interest in many subject areas, but I still feel drawn to a law-oriented or business degree. As far as business is concerned, the rationale behind my selection is the subject's nuanced and fascinating existence. In particular, I enjoy the way that business blends so well with everyday issues. Since I am taking a business course, my curiosity has grown and became more matured than before. I am able to view many businesses analytically and make a solution regarding possible improvements.

Law is an area which I was pretty intrigued from an early age. I enjoy reading extensively and I recognize that it is really essential in studying law. I consider myself well suited in this career because I pay close attention to detail and take pleasure in doing research that raises social issues in today's society and requires the ability to analyze facts and argue persuasively.

In addition, I also believed that taking Sociology and Psychology during my senior high have a really great impact on understanding other people’s action and how external factors affect their perception and behavior. This area of work requires a lot of confidence that I know I have and can use to my benefit to build a reputation in this dynamic field of work.

My volunteering experience is indeed very broad because of a variety of positions I held in different working environments. The most prominent was my time volunteering at a big event in Dubai, which is the Dubai Marathon. The event manager requires a strong leadership skill and has a good memory to maintain and distribute to other volunteers all rules and regulations. I was also given the privilege of being the leader of the volunteer team that shows the high level of confidence that the managers have for me. From a role of peace officer in Secondary School, my academic experiences were of great benefit to me. These duties have encouraged me to learn and to take my positions professionally in order to be valued by the staff and coordinators.

Lastly, I'm also very involved in sports and leisure. I play a lot of sports like basketball, table tennis, badminton and football; however, I focused more on volleyball throughout my career. When I was in junior high school, I was the captain ball of the girls' volleyball team and we competed not only interschool but also other cities in my region where I was awarded the Most Valuable Player and Best Spiker for volleyball. After a few years, I got accepted in Al Wasl club which is a highly known sports club in United Arab Emirates.
