Reasons Why I Want To Be A Teacher And Teach Children

After parent the most important person in student life is teacher, they learn each and everything from them. The word teacher is not just restricted to education it can be anyone who teaches you anything for example sport, In young age students look at their teacher as a role model. Teacher is the one who can build a good nation and make the world a better place. A teacher teaches us the importance of a pen over that of a sword. if the teacher is not inspirational what the student will learn from ?if he (the teacher )has limited amount of knowledge, what you expect that he will teach to the student or how he can inspire them. for me the best and inspirational teacher are those who built relationship with students before teaching them.

Inspirational teacher is one who can change the mindset of the student, who can make a good student out of failure, who can make an average student to a world class, who can activate the secret potential of student by motivating them. We all know why kids drop out its either poverty, low attendance or most important thing negative peer influence. Negative peer influence not just drops the kid out, but also it create negative mind of a student. Then he always thinks that he is the loser. So I believe for kids till grade 8 there should be teachers who give extra time to that student who are weak and motivate them.

Now a day’s teaching profession has become marketing. Teachers look at it as a business. Some teacher became teacher only for the sack of money, so my question is how this teacher can be inspirational for our young generation. As they even don’t carry if there student is learning or not, there only concern is money. Teacher is the one who can make good society or can also make it worst, as they are the one from whom student learn.

After completing my a-level I thought to start working as social worker. I visited many areas in Karachi where the condition of education system was really bad as there were no good teacher the one who were teaching they were just matric pass. They even don’t know what they are teaching. I thought to make a coaching center in which there will be free for everyone who want to study they can come and learn here. I built that coaching center and started working on student. I knew the most important thing is basic, if there basic become strong they can apply it in future. On first day I ask everyone about their interest for making interaction with them, when I told them to read they even don’t know how to read which make me really sad. i started motivating them working on them for hour and hour. They were to week in math as well I started from addition and subtraction. After 2 months they were totally changed they started reading books and solving math’s problem by own. I found that they had capability, but due to lack of good and inspirational teacher they didn’t learn anything.

After 1 month they were having an exam of matric I make them believe that you all will score good in in sha Allah, but you have to work hard they promise me that they will give input. I as a teacher did not compare anyone with other I make help them equally I supported them without any interest. My keen interest was to make them better in future and believe me these guys started working hard as I could have never imagine, in started I took a test no one score more than 10 out 100, before 1 day of exam I took a test and believe me there was no one who has less than 50 marks I felt so good that all of my input has worked. They also score good in their matric exam some got 80+.

When I started this work everyone was making fun of me. They use to say you are mad that you are teaching free of cost what will you achieve etc. it was not there issue as they never so anyone who is teaching free of coast and giving their time to student. I believe and inspirational teacher will never look in money. He will more concern about the student future not about his money. One good teacher who believes on spreading knowledge without his personal achievement can change the life of many students without a doubt. If I can do this for our youth there are lot better teacher then me who can built more better students efficiently. I believe teaching is all about understanding and relationship, if you can do this to a student you can change him totally whereas in today’s word you can get knowledge from one click.

So why do we need a teacher? for student it is important to know about his strength and weakness, what you want to become in future the path of it can only be taught by teacher. Learning is to gain information and knowledge which only a teacher can convey better as he know you better and he is the one with whom you has greater interaction. The teacher main aim should be to implement the things you learn in your real life. Inspirational teacher only aim on how and why theories which really workout. Inspirational teacher goal is to take out the hidden talent of each student to whom he is teaching and it can only be done by motivating and encouraging them for their goal. Once student get their path they will automatically start working on it and they will love doing what they will do. Sometimes student don’t know what they are studding due to which they get bore and start hating the subject, if you tell them there path and how they will achieve it that’s make easier for them to do it. Without direction you cannot go anywhere some goes in education if you have no direction you will move in circle round and round, will come to the same place where you started. Teacher is the one who can give you direction.

It is true that everything is available on internet what if you don’t get what is taught to you on internet will you ask questions from them? No you cannot ask and we all know basic fundamental of learning is asking question if you can’t ask question from them how can you learn from them whereas the teacher will answer each of your questions on the spot, but not every teacher only those who are inspirational and has greater amount of knowledge. Now a days these type of teachers are missing due to which student start learning from internet as they believe they are also teaching like it. We can’t ask questions from them as well as from internet. Due to which some issues arrive student set for learning something related to the topic, but on internet there is no class define they learn those things which are not in there topics.

What can a teacher do to become inspirational? It is easy to teach someone without interaction, but what if student is not getting what you are teaching where he or she will go? Motivation is not just saying that you can do it, motivation can be given through help, encouraging them, tell them what they can do and they are good in. 

What I believe in today’s world the teachers do a lot of assumption like they sometimes believe that student know what I am teaching but in reality it is opposite and they go through that topic to quickly due to which student lack behind. if you really want to motivate student you should start from the basics what so whatever you are teaching which will be quite help full for student they will take keen interest in it. 

Here’s an example — Say if you are teaching physics you can teach them by giving example of real life things which are in front of them, give example of fan while teaching rotational motion, example of bowler while teaching momentum and time impact how impact time increases the force, Using class door for torques and moment. If you are teaching about ships how it float on water you can make paper ships, which 7 years old can make, float there ships on water they will start taking keen interest, as everything is done in front of them physically. Ask them to built models of different things.
