Politicians and Comedians: It's Time to Change the Voice

Sociopolitical jokes circulated on social media are frequently irreverent and sometimes reflect ignorance. But those that center on issues that are emotive, unpleasant or confusing are often wildly popular. That is because the humor provides comic relief that temporarily defuses the tense feeling evoked by these issues, be it angst, anxiety or ambivalence.

Research has shown that humor is sometimes associated with subsequent decrease in stress, and this occurs through two pathways. The first pathway is neuro-physiological. When we laugh and enjoy humor, our nervous system relaxes and our brain releases hormones known as endorphins. This biochemical mechanism helps to regulate emotions and relieve pain, increasing physical and emotional well-being. The other pathway is socio-psychological. Joking brings people closer together, shape a better relationship and increases social support from each other. It also helps us in a stressful situation by seeing things from new perspectives. But these effects on physical, emotional and social health occur only when the joke is tolerable. But When we find a joke insulting or feel embarrassed by it, it is no longer humor to us. We feel upset and may even react aggressively.

That is the reason The Daily Show, as stupid and immature as it tends to be, is actually one of the best news programs and, along with The Colbert Report and South Park, offers some of the deepest commentary on television. While it clearly has a particular view, it is hard to be funny if you are simply showing only one point of view. And if your jokes do not hit home and not relatable, no one will laugh.

People are changing now by giving the comedian the louder voice rather than the politicians, they take them more seriously and the politicians as a joke, and this is not a good change in my opinion because sometimes politicians are serious and trying to bring up a big problem that our country is dealing with or a crisis and they need the money to survive, but thanks to the comedian people are going to think differently and they will think that politicians are the bad guys and they are just playing games and trying to farm money from them.

Politics is an important part of every human’s life, for the simple reason that you might not be interested in politics, but politics will always be interested in you. At its central, politics concern the common good and the different ways it can be achieved. the right to marry, the right to vote, a 40-hour work week, all of these and more are fundamentally political issues that are hardly stupid, pointless, or childish.

There are many who think that politics is not vital and there are others who don’t really care about it. It is very important that we must take politics seriously and make analysis. Politics is a powerful social science which governs all aspect of our lives hence it affects you the most. If we really care about ourselves and our fellow beings, we need active involvement in politics.
