Personal statement
When analyzing myself, I realize that I have more strengths than weaknesses. My weaknesses make me a bad student. My biggest weakness is time management. As a leader, I would like to encourage more adults like myself who have the desire to return to school and complete their education. To impart courage, inspiration, and to inform others that all is possible with hard work and dedication. I would like to create an environment that empowers others to lead by examples. This process would enrich their lives and the lives of love ones. In two years, I would like to have grown both socially and mentally. I want to emerge from being closed to an open flower. Remove some the privacy that I have caged myself in. I want to become untangled, I would like to feel free within myself. Having others see me flourished in my accomplishments. In two years, I hope to have increased my interpersonal skills, and effectively managing my workload and personal life. Long-term, I pray to be well-rounded and a valuable leader on and off the job.
My strengths and weaknesses as a leader
I have a lot of strength to carry into my new career, such as having experience in the medical and the hotel industry. I have paper-work experience, knowledge of case management, problem-solving, and the gratification for helping people. I will consider training options, experience opportunities, available to me. I am empathetic to others at work and in my personal life. One of my biggest weakness is when I’m been micromanaged. I lose all sight of what’s going on if someone is constantly breathing down my neck I lose my thought and concentration. I simply can't function. I'm convicted that the employer may have little faith in my ability to get the job completed. This is something I must work on. That brings me to my next weakness, confidence. I completely lack confidence in myself, sometimes. I get very nervous and lose my direct. To overcome this weakness I should, build my confidence I will gain more strength when working under pressure. “Aha.” That was an Oprah moment. Did I just figure this out? I am seasoned when it comes to hard work and taking criticism. I most definitely know I should work on my public speaking, to feel more comfortable. I may need to start speaking more and practicing more in front of a mirror. Building my weakness will only depend on well I progress with my confidence in myself. I must believe me, just as I believe in others.
My Plan for Leadership Development and Growth
I am currently seeking to find the right accountability mentor. This person can help to increase my awareness and guide me toward a better future. A wise and experienced mentor can help me recognize my talents and strengthen my core values as a future leader. A mentor is an experienced colleague who can provide invaluable guidance to you as you advance into a career, according to thebalancecareers.com. He or she may work for the same organization but doesn't have to. Choosing a mentor who is also a coworker may be beneficial, however, since he or she will have insight that someone who works for another entity will not. This leadership tool can improve both my organizational success and team performance. I don’t have to prepare to volunteer; I have been volunteering for many years. I will continue to give back to my community. Lastly, another important tool I will use is networking. Networking can be essential to my individual growth and development. Networking can teach me how to interact with powerful connections, initiate more conversations and develop more as a confident leader.

After I graduate from Mercer University in the fall of 2019, I will be applying for a job in healthcare services.
My vision over the following year is to work my way up to a healthcare manager position. I have a strong interest in working with organization and medical; thus, just as the field of healthcare is expansive, so are my interests. Therefore, the job that I pursue will be determined by the amount of experience I can bring to a company. I am currently applying for an internship in the middle Georgia area. In addition, I will accept the position that is most appropriate for me if it aligns with my living arrangement, location, and financial circumstances.
As a healthcare manager I will spend most days managing and coordinating health services in a clinics or hospital. For me to reach this goal, I will need to apply to grad school in spring 2020. It is my mission after I receive my BS degree in science to attend the University of Denver in pursued of a Master of Health Leadership degree. I will be taking classes 'online. By taking classes online I will be more flexible while I maintain a fulltime position while gaining experience in the healthcare field. Seeking a master's degree will also help me expand my knowledge in areas such as healthcare regulations and laws, patient care, and other changing healthcare initiatives. Above all things, I will continue to put God first in all I do; because without Him, nothing is possible. I will always carry my spiritual belief with me all the days of my life.
