Personal Failure: Learning to Succeed in Life

Everyone fails at something in their life at least once and you'd be lying if you said you never have. It’s ok to fail as long as you take it as an opportunity to grow and learn and not as a defeat. I’ve had my fair share of failures and it took me some time to learn from them, but now I know that I’m in a better place because of them. I love every single one of my failures in life and other people should learn to love and appreciate their failures too. Therefore I've decided to write an essay on personal failure.

Learning from my Failure

If you go into something knowing you are going to succeed the first time then what are you learning? It's like watching your favorite movie over and over again, you know how it ends so why watch it. We rewatch them because we know what to expect and there are no surprises. We take comfort in things that are familiar to us. Putting yourself out there and trying new things is scary and hard. We don't try new things because we are scared of the unknown and we are scared to fail. We need to understand that failure is inevitable and learn to be comfortable with failing because it will happen. Once you've gotten yourself out of the habit of doing the same things you’ll find yourself taking more risks and become successful if you properly prepare yourself.

If you find yourself feeling unmotivated and tired all the time then maybe it's time for a change. When I say change I don't mean changing your Facebook status. I'm talking about major lifestyle changes. The type of lifestyle that you lead has an effect on your daily decision and attitude. We are supposed to get at least 6 hours of sleep every night in order to be productive throughout work and school. Not getting enough sleep could prevent you from being productive at work and school. If you are studying late and know you will be tired at school if you continue; go to sleep early and wake up early in the morning to finish. Its little changes like this that make a big difference in your life in order to be successful.

Everyone takes and copes with their failures differently. There’s no right way to deal with failure, but there are ways to make it easier to deal with. I've learned that the best way to deal with failure is to see it as a second chance, a second chance to learn and grow from it. Always strive for success the second time around and come up with a plan and goals that you wish to accomplish. You're most likely to achieve your goals faster and easier if you have a plan for the future. People who fail often live for the day and not the future.

Conclusion

Success in any form won't come easy and isn't easy to find. It's true that some things come easier to others, but that doesn't mean that success will. To conclude, failure is not the end, in fact, it's just the beginning of the journey to success. Don't let your failures defeat and define you. We are in control of our lives and we need to own our failures and decide what we want to do with them. Everyone is capable of greatness and success as long as you remember to move forward and never give up.
