Shopping is one of the most common habits of today’s society and is done both for leisure and economical purposes. In today's technology-driven era, most brands have a strong online presence and more and more customers are using the internet to purchase clothes, food, electronics and other goods. Some choose this option for its convenience and flexibility. Others are lured by the low costs and exclusive deals. Yet, online shopping cannot match the experience of being able to physically touch products. Many customers still prefer to go to shopping malls so they can try on clothes and view other goods in-person before buying. People think online shopping is superior, but traditional shopping is better for a variety of reasons.

Shopping online has a lack of quality control. The merchandise is lacking in touch because consumers can only see pictures of the items on the website. Customers are not able to try the merchandise on especially the clothing. This causes them not to know for sure whether the item they purchase is exactly what they wanted. It is not the same as traditional shopping, where the person can go in and see what they actually buy.

Furthermore, online shopping often requires the person to take the word from the product summary that is typically cleverly designed to make it sound more attractive to people. The photos of the objects are generally much better than the actual items. Another downside to shopping online is that the person cannot enjoy shopping socialization with friends. This can often make some people feel lonely. However, the internet has made shopping an activity that is almost effortless. There is no doubt that online shopping can be very convenient for busy people. When they prefer, they can shop in only their pajamas. All they have to do is shop and make purchases from any place which is more convenient than having to take time out of their day to go in person to local stores during their operating hours.

In contrast, traditional shopping allows the person, particularly on clothing, to touch or even try the merchandise and at least visually check that it looks fine. Online shopping is crushing the mystique of the salesperson swagger. A qualified salesperson is trained to be mindful of your needs and have the ability to suggest the right product based on listening to what the sales needs are. Having a person at hand to help find the right size, color, shape and design is a testimony to what the shopping experience in store is all about. Equally important is the time a person can spend socializing with others. This is one of the best things about traditional shopping. For example, sometimes a day at the mall is the only time friends have to catch up. Other times it is because there is family in town and they need to go get something so everyone loads up and makes a day of it. Regardless of the circumstances, it allows a person to spend time with others who might otherwise not be able to do so. Nonetheless, there are still some problems with traditional shopping. Traditional shopping means that a person has to leave home and either walk or take a ride to a specific location to buy what they want. Once the person arrives at the store, they have to find a parking space and that can be very difficult. Some people just forget when they try to leave where they have parked. Many people lock the car keys in the car by mistake, or sometimes there are traffic jams that cause unnecessary pressure. It is only the overall time and energy consumption that most people find difficult. People might also experience a shopping rage phenomenon that is more common during the holidays. During the holidays, people get tired and irritated and let out their frustration when shopping with other people. During the holidays, people get tired and irritated and let out their frustration when shopping with other people.

Traditional shopping definitely has several advantages over shopping online. Traditional shopping allows the customer to actually know what they are buying firsthand and visually see it before they buy it. Furthermore, there is nothing like a day out with friends just hanging out at the mall and socializing to catch up on what has been going on. The one set back could be having to actually drive to the store and endure the madness. However, the traditional shopper will actually enjoy the thrill of finding the bargain and bumping into the people.
