Believing in Myself and My Dreams

I was always told to follow my dreams, or ill spend my life working for someone who did. My childhood, like many others started out with an aspiration to become rich and famous.

As I grew older I began to see the different in my dreams. They appeared to be more realistic and profound if you will. I never realized that my future would be built off of my dream and I never realized why it was so important to follow them.“ William Arthur Ward once said, If you can imagine it you can achieve it if you can dream it you can become it”. Following my dreams has given me something to share with others. It gives me and others around me a sense of hope, inspiration, and a meaning to live. As I began to grow I realized that iam “me” for a reason and I have been equipped with the knowledge and support to be able to inspire others to do the same.

The moment when I thought about dreaming big is when I graduated from high school. Ever since I started school I’ve always wanted to finish high school in less than 4 years; I was just turning 17. I took independent study and I taught myself. They gave us books and we figure out the answers and I did some reading and researching to find answers for my questions. So, each month I turn in my work. When I finish the books I have, I take different ones. I told myself since I work on my own pace I might have an opportunity to do more work to graduate early. “I can do it and start college early and finish at a young age”. I talked to my teacher about it and she told me that I have to have the approval from the administrators. If they see a student doing all the work on time they can sign a waiver and accept. So they took some of my work that i've been doing since I started high school. I waited for a couple days and I got a call from school saying that I was accepted to do 2 years in one. At that moment knowing I can graduate within 2 years and a half. I was speechless I didn't know what to say. I was very excited that I did it. So I had extra work, did summer school, and I achieved what I wanted. Now i'm in college and it's my second year. My best friend saw me doing this she paced up with the work and did the same thing so she looked up to me. I would say though that even after inspiring those around me and being able to build courage within myself through accomplishing my dreams. So I think that everyone should dream big and go for what they want. Never hesitate to follow your dreams because your future is built from your dream.

I also enjoy inspiring my family and following my dream gives me something to share and inspire people that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. My family encouraged me and helped me every step; they believed in me. They want me to achieve my goal no matter what it takes. Hearing success stories from those who have followed their dream has truly showed a humbling experience. Chasing my dreams not only had given me something to share, but it has allowed me to develop courage within myself which has ultimately been the way to my success in life. I can’t always say that i’ve had the motivation and determination to be all that I want to be. In the end dreamers have no limits. That’s the best part about it.

Whether you strike to become rich, famous, or even the president of USA, it is up to the dreamer to take action and strike for the success that he/shwishes to see. Harriet Tubman once stated that, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer…” I am a dreamer, and I believe that I have within me the power to reach for my dream.
