A Thrilling Journey: Exploring 'Hitman: Agent 47' and the Moral Dilemma of Agent 47
My favorite movie would have to be 'Hitman: Agent 47', which is a 2015 American action thriller film directed by Aleksander. Its main character is a mysterious assassin known only as 'Agent 47'. The movie was released on August 21, 2015.
'Agent 47' is an agent, a genetically enhanced supersoldier created decades ago by Doctor 'Dr. Litvenko', a skilled Ukrainian geneticist who had a crisis of conscience and disappeared before the Agent project's completion, leaving behind his daughter.'Agent 47' works as a hitman for the ICA (International Contracts Agency) and has spent the last few years tracking down Katia as a means to find her father. His most recent targets were mercenaries led by 'Delriego' who have been trying to find 'Dr. Litvenko' in order to recreate the agent program for their own means.
Katia lives in Berlin under the name of 'Katia Van Dees'. She has worked tirelessly to find her father. She is also an agent and programed to see and hear things well outside a person's normal sensory radius. Katia is approached at a subway station by a man calling himself 'John Smith'. He tells her that '47' is on his way to kill her and offers protection, while alluding that he has information about her father. '47' finds and attacks the pair, who are able to escape. 'Smith' and 'Katia' hide out in a hotel room where the former explains that he is an operative for a corporation known as Syndicate International, and 'Katia' shows him her map of clues to find her father.
'Agent 47' bursts through the door, shoots 'Smith' in the chest, and knocks 'Katia' unconscious. Once Katia awakens, '47' explains to her that she is not only an agent but also is more advanced than him. He even explains that her real name is 'quatre-vingt-dix'; which is French for '90' and shows her how to use her heightened senses in combat, as the two fight against Syndicate forces confronted by Smith. Despite all these, 'Katia' is not pleased for being chosen to be a killing machine. Elsewhere, 47's handler 'Diana' ordered 'Agent 47' to eliminate the both targets:'katia' and 'Antoine LeClerq', the director of Syndicate International headquarters. 'Katia' makes '47' promise that he won't harm her father and finally reveals Litvenko's location: Singapore. Once there, they find 'Litvenko'. He apologizes to Katia for abandoning her, saying that he only wanted to keep her safe. He refers to '47' as her 'brother', saying that he had left her with family after all. So, here 'Agent 47' has to decide if he will eliminate 'Katia' or not and it's difficult to break Diana's order in his mission.
At Syndicate International headquarters, 'Litvenko' still refused to reopen the Agent program. From here 'Katia' and 'Agent 47' fought as a team. 'Katia' crashes a helicopter into the building and '47' entered the headquarters as a firefighter. On the rooftop, they both fought their way through the last of the Syndicate's security, but not before 'LeClerq' escapes in a helicopter with 'Dr.Litvenko' . In mid-air, Litvenko detonates the inhaler given to him by '47' , ensuring that the syndicate will not come after 'Katia'. 'Agent 47' then phoned 'Diana' and confirms his first target has been eliminated. When 'Diana' asks about the second target (implied to be Katia), 47 drops his phone off the side of the building, so here he decided not to kill 'Katia'. As the two prepare to leave, they are confronted by Agent 48, an exact look-alike of 'Agent 47' , who tells them 'Diana says 'Hello''.
In my opinion, I think that 'Agent 47's' decision was right for not killing 'Katia' and to set her free from this program, while it was hard for him from the first time due to his orders. This movie is one of my favorite due to its characters and challenges which they try to solve.
