He is known as the director of the Iron Man movies series, but has been a talented actor and talented producer since his 90s as a director in various movie TV dramas. Tony Stark does not show up for his award and his co-worker, Obadiah Stane, shows up to get the award instead of Tony Stark. Obadiah Stane gets the award instead which emphasizes that he is also going to be an important role but because he got the award in stead of Tony Stark, it foreshadows that he has the higher chance of becoming a villain.

Let’s compare this Iron man with Batman from the DC Comics. Batman Begins is a 2005 superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman, directed by Christopher Nolan. Batman Begins starts with bats flying in the sky and making a batman’s sign. After showing audiences that it is about Batman, the movie starts with Batman’s childhood. A child falls in the well and attacked by bats. With the attacking by bats, adult Batman woke up and in the jail. He walks around in the prison, met a villain saying “You are in hell, little man” and attacked by this villain. However, the Batman fights him back and destroyed the gangs in the prison. Because of this brutal fight, guards dragged the Batman back to the prison. In this scene, diegetic sound and nondiegetic sound were used simultaneously. The nondiegetic sound was used to show the struggles that Tony Stark has from the pain. A mechanical and strange sound used to distract audiences feeling to feel what Tony Stark feels. Also, the diegetic sound was used with nondiegetic sound. Tony Stark’s scream and the sound of bottle or some metallic sound used externally and internally. With the disturbance of nondiegetic sound has made, the diegetic sound also makes audiences feel that how hard was it to survive from the death. Not only sound, but also editing was used to intensify the feeling that Tony Stark is suffering. With the blurry view, the director used spatial continuity. It shows Tony Stark and doctors who are doing surgery back and forth. After the surgery, Tony Stark closes his eyes and scene gets dark. It slowly gets lights up and Tony Stark wakes up. With the perfect combination of the sound and the editing skills, people fully know he survived from the death by serious pain and able to feel what Tony Stark has overcome.

Iron man makes a Mark-3 suit and fights against the villain which is Iron Monger which Obadiah Stane is on. To make the fight scene intensely, the director used mise-en-scene and editing to decorate the scene well. The fight scene starts with Tony Stark talking to heroine to run away from the building that villain might attack. Perfect editing used by director shows the scary appearance of the villain. The continuity editing, transition and sound are used to draw the attentions of audiences to surprised by appearance of the villain. First, the heroine walks out from the building and talks with Tony Stark to explain the situation. The phone disconnects with making a weird sound which is diegetic sound. The heroine looks back because of a thundering noise which also is a diegetic sound happening behind her. The camera slowly puts the heroine outside of the angle, and the villain comes out from the ground. Only 30 seconds of the villain’s appearance made the audiences wondering about what is going to happen and are amazed with the perfect appearance of the villain.

This could happen because of the perfect editing skills that director used. After the villain comes out from the ground, Tony Stark with Iron man suit flies from the sky to attack and save the heroine from the Iron monger. Iron monger is attacked by Iron man and dragged out to highway to fight that heroine does not exist. From now, the villain makes civilians in the danger. Iron monger is on the highway and as soon as it lends on the highway, he attacks an innocent civilian to protect himself. The highway instantly turned into a madhouse because of the villain’s appearance on the highway. He gets up and to attack Iron man, grabs a car that innocent family in and tries to throw to Iron man. Iron man gets up and save the family that inside of the car. To avoid the danger for the innocent people, Iron man makes Iron monger to follow up in the sky and fights. Iron man freezes Iron monger to make him incompetent. Audiences think that hero defeated the villain but Iron monger survived and attacks Iron man again in the ground. The hero now is in danger but used the heroine to fight back unbeatable villain. The villain almost win Iron man but heroine destroyed the Iron monger perfectly with the combination of hero’s power and heroine’s help. The mise-en-scene, sound, editing, and cinematography are properly distributed to intensify the fight scene and make audiences to feel like they are in the part of the movie. Ironman's perfect battle scenario has contributed tremendously to the scenario of many hero movies.

To compare the battle scene of Iron man, the Batman Begins has different style of battle scene. The Batman, a hero, is now in the train and fighting with the villain. Christopher Nolan used a nondiegetic sound to make the battle scene feel more intensely to the audiences. The fight scene is happening fight the played music of a fast tempo. The villain using a train to destroy the city. The batman has lost the battle with the villain. However, like Iron man, a sidekick helps out batman to destroy the railway to stop the train. Because of the help by sidekick, villain is flustered and the situation in turned in batman’s favor. Batman destroys the part of the train and escapes, but villain cannot escape from the danger and dies inside of the train. Christopher Nolan well used the mise-en-scene and sound to decorate his movie well, but the impact of the battle scene did not able to fascinate the audience like the Iron man did.
