Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier As An Important Memorial
An important memorial located in our nation’s capital that holds fallen, unidentified heroes from not one, two, or even three, but four important wars that our nation has fought. Some may not comprehend or understand what these significant soldiers represent. Besides representing themselves and their heroic actions, they also represent our brilliant country and our nationalism, as well as all other soldiers who passed without being recognized or identified. Being chose to represent Benton Central in Washington D.C. by placing the wreath onto the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier would be a great honor.
Although whom lies within the sarcophagus remains a mystery, and is “known but to God,” it’s clear as glass that they have a significant meaning. These soldiers represent all of the other men and women of courage who have put everything on the line to fight for freedom in order to make our country as strong and brilliant as it is today. This memorial also serves the purpose of allowing us to see how privileged we are today and puts emphasis on the sacrifices others have made for us, to allow us to have these. Soldiers are willing to give up anything and everything for their country whether that be their family at home or their lifestyle. The least we can do is honor them in a way like this.
Laying the wreath onto the tomb would be a huge honor. This experience would allow me to positively represent our school and country, as well as honor all unrecognized soldiers. It would be a privilege for me to honor these brave men and women. These soldiers, whether we realize it or not, have a huge impact on our everyday lives and the way we live.Without them, I, as well as many others may not have many of the privileges we take for granted each and every day such as our educations, hobbies, or many other freedoms such as our religions. Without them, our country would not be as strong as it is today. Even the soldiers who go unrecognized have made sacrifices and risked their lives for us as well, so they deserve credit as well. For these reasons, I would love to have the opportunity to give these fallen soldiers the distinction and honor they deserve by placing the wreath onto the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier while in Washington D.C.
These soldiers went through more than one can imagine and I would love to have the opportunity to present them with the honor that they’ve so rightfully earned.
