The Truth Behind What It Means To Be A Hero

What is a Hero? A hero could mean multiple things to different people. A hero could be a knight in shiny armor, a random person with a mask and cape, or a more normal person helping others in the world. Even motivational speakers could be a person’s hero and change their lives with just words. There has been a lot of heroes in fictional stories and in the real world we live in. Like the story of Beowulf where he plays as a hero for a certain mead-hall (Burton Raffel Beowulf). He assists King Hrothgar with his issues with Grendel (Burton Raffel Beowulf). Beowulf could be compared to a knight in shiny armor. Batman(DC Comics) could also be an example of a hero to some people as well. As for normal people in the world they could be heroes too when the time is right. On April 15, 2013 at 2:49 p.m the Boston Marathon Bombing occurred. As people were scared when the bombs exploded(E News). Former New England Patriots offensive lineman Joe Andruzzi put his life on the line to save a few people from the bombing(E News). That heroic ability to put your life on the line can also make you a hero even if you are just a normal person. Like his three brothers who were firefighters during the September 11 attacks(E News). Even motivational speakers can change a person's life by using their words and setting them on different or better path. Those kinds of people most likely has a chance to change the way anyone thinks.

A hero can be anyone that can help the world or make society a better place. A hero doesn’t need armor and weapons like the story Beowulf. The traits that Beowulf has alone could be help consider what a hero is. Courage is a way to show your heroic acts and behavior. What doesn’t make a hero is gigantic ego while pride would be a much better characteristic. A hero doesn’t need to wear a mask and/or cape to be considered a heroic figure. Batman’s parents died and that event gave him the determination and drive to fight crime and help the city of Gotham(DC Comics). Maybe a hero wants to make change in the world so they could prevent bad things in the world from happening or to teach others to learn from their past and mistakes. The only negative trait Batman has is the need to save everyone. Many people on the planet doesn’t need help and some random person just trying to help you when you don’t need it consistently could be seen as very annoying and inconsiderate. To be a hero there always has to be good in someone. Joe Andruzzi always had good in him. Him and his family made the Joe Andruzzi Foundation to help with money for cancer patients to undergo treatment(Joe Andruzzi Foundation). Heroes are people that always want to help the world as it has been said before. He always had a passion to help others that were in need. As for motivational speakers they need integrity to help with the point that they are trying to make. Their audience needs to be persuaded into thinking differently. As they want others to have better lives. All of these things mean something to be a hero in a person's eyes. These traits all lead to the heart of a hero. All of the people and stories involve the heart to be better and do better.
