The Role of Sir Robert Peel in the Organization of the Metropolitan Police Department

This part of my paper I am going to give you a little bit of a background on Sir Robert Peel. Sir Robert Peel created the Metropolitan Police Department in 1829. Peel himself said that the key to policing is that the police are people and the people are police as well. He also believed that crime prevention could be accomplished without having to intrude into the citizen daily life. The term community policing comes from Peel's concept of prevention. Community policing has become a part of our law enforcement throughout the United States. It is based on the goal to help prevent criminal activity, and to promote a better police and citizen partnership.

If are law enforcement can understand and relate to the different races and culture accept within their community. They then well are able to gain the approval of the citizens. With this type of approval it well help increase the effectiveness of are law enforcement. Peel felt that if law enforcement would focus their attention on crime, they would develop an effective relationship when dealing with that type of crime.

Peel himself felt that both sides should work together to make things work. He also felt that the president and government should work to make the principle work as well as community policing. There is a lot of thing that need to change to help better are United States and crime rates in our community. The only problem is that are government doesn't want to help fund this non-profit organization, and with that it cause are jails and prison to come over crowded. If we would us some of the principles that Sir Robert lee has come up with I feel that are United Stated would run a little smoother. The only problem is everyone has to be on board not just one person. Yes there is many citizens who don't like change but some times change is a good thing. I just hate to see what the future hold for are children and grandchild if we stay on the path that we are on , if we don't do some type changes we are going to be in worse than what we are known. I think that if this principles are used more like they are supposed to then we wouldn't be in the shape that we are in.

What is community policing? It is away that law enforcement can get involved in their community and show the people of their community that they are there to help them not hurt them. They get involoed with Non-profit organization and Private business as well, YOU must have problem solving as well to make community policing work.

Community Policing is come more popular in the United States but not like it should be. The reason why is people don't deal with change really well. So this causes a lot of Conflict. I feel that if people would expect the change and allow community policing more than are communities would run a little smoother. I think in the future that it going to be a lot more popular then want it is know because we need help with certain thing and if we use community policing and Sir Robert Peel principles a little more it is going to help us have a better future for are children and grandchildren

This paper has given you an insight to Sir Robert Peel and Community policing. The reason why both of them are discussed about in this paper is that they both go hand in hand. Sir Robert Peel principles helped developed community policing. I think that with the right training and tools that are law enforcement could use this in an effective way to help the citizen of are community . With the way we are starting to have more terriost attacks on the United States. I think that it would be better, to us some of the principles that Sir Robert Peel.
