The Promising Advantages of Honor Codes for the Student's Future
My name is Rosine Uwayesu, and I am currently a sophomore at Tyler Junior College. I am pursuing an associate degree in Biology to complete my pre-med qualifications. After I finish my associate degree this coming fall of 2019, I plan to transfer to UT Arlington to earn my bachelor’s in biology for medical school. My goal is to become a cardiologist, primarily serving as a doctor with special training and skills in finding, treating and preventing diseases of the heart and blood vessels. I want to participate in UTA honors community because giving back to a community through groundbreaking research is a challenge I would love and would be willing to take. Whether it's helping to solve trending issues, setting an example and becoming a leader, or helping to introduce new frameworks or hypotheses for a certain subject.
Honors society provide exclusive research programs and internships, which, I believe are among the most important aspects of a great, fulfilling college experience. In addition to this, this program comes hand in hand with strong support unit, encouragement, and valuable resources, from both the program itself and other student members with the same passion for science. With your combination of distinctive and challenging courses, small class sizes, close and direct contact with professors and other students alike, exclusive academic and non-academic programs; emphasis on critical thinking, open discussion as well as a motivational and supportive environment, honors for natural sciences stimulate the development of important life knowledge and skills. I was born and raised in Rwanda, East Africa, where most people die from being misdiagnosed. I want to work with my fellow cardiologist to save the lives of some of these people. This program would help me continue my education and potentially save thousands of lives in east Africa and the rest of the world.
Most importantly, honors enrich the overall experience of university academically, professionally, and personally. With all this, honors ensure that students involved are successful, prosperous, and most importantly happy and enjoying this incredible experience. I am a strong enthusiastic learner and have a great appreciation for science, I have put forth the time and effort to earn my GPA, participating in UT Arlington’s honors for natural sciences and having a membership certificate would be a rewarding and memorable experience that I can appreciatively remember for years to come. An experience that shows you reap great benefits and opportunities from working hard.
