There is always pros and cons when it comes to mostly anything that has an argument involved in it. Society has different opinions about what other people has to say when it comes down if smoking tobacco should be legal or illegal. Perhaps some might say that tobacco is better than drinking alcohol. And some may differ but the real question is what is the benefit of it? In another words can it help yourself? Does it change your life? And if it does how? For ages society has been debating between tobacco and alcohol and which is safer and more dependable to use. Most people consider it as an addiction and uses tobacco as an excuse to say it helps keep them in control of what they do and it also helps their mind keep focus and determine on their main objective as of what they would like intent to do. Or another excuse it to say that it's a job for them or it's their only way to live better. Tobacco is being selled legal at the moment worldwide across the nation and the world. There are many risks that many people doesn't know that tobacco can ruin your life but at the sametime make your life good at the moment. Tobacco is now being selled in electronic pens, and pendrives. Most society does not know about it because the company that makes them makes it look realistic and actually believable. People can smoke, sniff, or chew tobacco. So therefore tobacco should be illegal and a disagreement may can towards myself later but hear me out why I suggest that tobacco should not be used.

Let’s start with a little background on how tobacco was made and what usage was it encountered with a back then. And how has it changed to how people uses it no. First of all Tobacco is a plant that was planted and grown in the North and South America. Christopher Columbus was the first person that was given a dried Tobacco leaf from the American Indians that he encountered with during his adventure. Afterwords Tobacco was brought to Europe was the sailors and the plant was being grown all over Europe during that time. Back then Tobacco was being used as a healing property and many Europeans believed that Tobacco could cure anything that they had no solutions for and curing Cancer was the main focus at the time and humans breath. During the 1600’s Tobacco was popular and well known and heard about that it was starting to be used as if it was money for some reason. It was being described Tobacco was literally “as good as gold”. Society would start to catch an addiction for Tobacco as well as if it was an answer to everything and most dependable during tough times.

“In 1632, 12 years after the Mayflower arrived on Plymouth Rock, it was illegal to smoke publicly in Massachusetts!”) (www.academic.udayton.edu) Cited From. As said Tobacco is not allowed to be sold everywhere across the country and for specific reason matter of fact. People in Massachusetts were more worried about why was it illegal to use Tobacco then worrying more about their own health and medical needs. That's how Tobacco can mess with your brain cells and the way you can think and it can also make you think about things that you would not want to but will. But this addiction did not only happen back in the 1600’s it is happening right now as we speak. But later on a couple of years later during the mid 1700’s Pierre Lorillard created a company in the New York City to make Tobacco, cigars, and snuff. Pierre is has the oldest Tobacco company in the United States. Secondly smoking Tobacco should be against the law is because of population.

Smoking Tobacco affects the population and society in many different ways. For starters it affects smokers health and it takes over their body. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, children exposed to the secondhand of smokers because they are growing up and developing and they grow. That is a risk that a infant can be caused by middle ear infection, asthma, pneumonia and bronchitis. Imagine a pregnant woman smoking and sniffing Tobacco while a living human being is growing and developing inside her stomach. What comes to mind when that sort of thing pops up and is being processed? In the world that we are living on today we do not just worry about yourself and that is it. People that you surround yourself around will be affected believe it or not. A choice that you make can decide your future and destiny and it's either going to the right path or wrong path but the choice is your to make. Now according to the CDC website “Annually, one of every five deaths in the U.S. is related to smoking, due to conditions such as pneumonia, bronchitis, lung cancer and emphysema.

Smoking Tobacco also increases the risk of heart cancer and lung cancer and also heart disease and infections that comes along with it.” Tobacco continues to be selled and expended by every continent and country. Just in the United States $193 billion is spent annually. “The Society of Actuaries reported that in 2006 which is the latest available information available about secondhand smokers that costs the U.S. approximately around $10 billion a year and about $5 billion in medical associated with secondhand smoke and $4.6 billion in lost wages-youth exposure was not included in the cost.” (https://www.livestrong.com)

People that is used to smoking or got into the habit of it is because of peer pressure or would like to be known because in their mind smoking was how you would get noticed and popular back then. Also in their minds the kids think that smoking Tobacco is the right thing to do and that is why it's being sold around the world. They do not see wrong from right they just do what they see everyone else is doing and just go along with it. “Cigarettes is one of the deadliest object in the history of human civilisation. The most important reason to ban the sale of cigarettes, however, is that most smokers do not even like the fact that they smoke; cigarettes are not a recreational drug.” (https://www.livestrong.com) What truly catches me off guard is when kids these days would do almost anything to be acknowledged for no reason. But the real reason behind it is because they want be like that person that is very popular of that is making a good living or just the fact that stands out in general and public. Kids starts smoking Tobacco around 14-17 years of age.

Parents are also a big part of their kids journey as growing up and how they would act in a different or certain way. It all comes to play when school grades are going downhill or treat the kids brain is not functioning like it used to function or the responses is slow compared to before smoking Tobacco. But at the sametime kids around those ages should be able to identify right from wrong also know what they are getting themselves into. Not their whole life they will have their mom and dad by their side to guide them throughout every step of the way on what they should be doing that will help their time in the future. But if their parents were to so these types of things then their own kids would look at them as the bad parents because in their minds they not living the best life that they were imagining and would want to.
