What would happen if animals could talk? What would happen if animals could rule? What would happen if animals were smarter than humans? “Animal Farm” is a novel written by “George Orwell”. Animal farm is an allegory that represents the Russian Revolution. Animal Farm talks about a leader called Napoleon; he is a tyrant leader. He makes the pigs get educated and work as supervisors. On the other hand, Napoleon makes the rest of the animals work harder and they receive less food. At the animal farm, Napoleon used his leadership for his and other pigs’ privileges.

To begin with, Napoleon is the leader of Animal Farm. He is a tyrant leader. “They had just finished singing if for the third time when squealer, attended by two dogs, approached them with the air of having something important to say. He announced that, by a special decree of Comrade Napoleon, Beasts of England has been abolished. From now onwards it was forbidden to sing it.” (George, O.(1946).Animal Farm. USA, NY: Harcourt, Brace, and Company). Squealer said that they can’t sing Beasts of England anymore. He then explained that this song Represents the rebellion, and since the rebellion is done, then no need for them to sing it. This quotation supports the thesis because it shows that rules are rules, and no animal dares to argue about it. Especially when squealer says that it is a special degree from Napoleon. Napoleon’s leadership is not the only thing that makes him gain privilege.

Secondly, Napoleon takes advantage of animals getting scared of him. “Throughout the spring and summer they worked a six-hour week, and in August Napoleon announced that there would be work on Sunday afternoon as well. This work was strictly voluntary, but any animal who absented himself from it would have his rations reduced by half.” (George, O.(1946).Animal Farm. USA, NY: Harcourt, Brace, and Company). This shows how tyrant Napoleon is because he says that there is voluntary work but the ones who don’t come will be punished. This quotation shows how tyrant Napoleon is even on Sundays. Animals get scared of Napoleon because he punishes them, and he takes this advantage and does cruel things like making them work on Sundays. The scared animal is not the only thing that makes him gain privilege.

Lastly, Napoleon uses the animal’s illiterate for his privileges. “It was absolutely necessary, he said, that the pigs, which were the brains of the farm, should have a quiet place to work in. It was also more suited to the dignity of the leader” Squealer convinces. This situation happens when the pigs move to the farmhouse and eat in the kitchen. But the other animals remember that the commandments say that “All animals are equal,” but as always squealer can convince the animals. These two quotations show how Napoleon and by the help of squealer can take advantage of the animals' stupidity, and turn it to his privilege. “They thought that the Fifth commandment was “No animals shall drink alcohol,” but there were two words that have forgotten. Actually the commandment read: “No animal shall drink alcohol to excess.” “Some of the animals remembered or thought they remembered that the Sixth commandment decreed “No animal shall kill any other animal.”……..Muriel read the commandment “No animal shall kill any animal without case.” (George, O.(1946).Animal Farm. USA, NY: Harcourt, Brace, and Company). These are some examples of how Napoleon is using their stupidity for his privilege. The pigs change the rules of animalism to suit their desires and the other animals let them get away with it.

In conclusion, Napoleon uses his leadership for his privileges. Napoleon and the pigs know that the other animals are uneducated, so they change the animalism rules. But when the other animals question about the rules, Squealer tells them that they just forgot the rules and that the rules are the same. Napoleon also knows that all the animals are scared of him, so he sets cruel rules. Nowadays, some people know the truth but chose to keep silent. Also nowadays, some people support and follow their leader for their benefits and privileges.
