Technical and Business Writing Communication at theWorkplace

Communication is the key to better performance and interaction between people whether at school or at the workplace. The distribution runs two ways that are the sender and receiver and is often defined by how it has been delivered. The paper will focus on explaining why technical writing is dominating over business writing and why business writing should be retained by the teaching faculties.

Kitty talked about the two writing and differentiated them with how they operate. She suggested that technical writing is guided by explanations and instructions. The outcome must be clear and precise as it describes how things operate through steps and processes. On the other hand she said that other types of writing like academic essays and business writing are focused more on persuasion and motivation. Therefore business writing is a form of motivation through the work of creativity to expand on ideas. However, when it comes to comparison between essays and technical writings like the report the means of study becomes different. Most faculties are dwelling more on technical writing while arguing that employers at the workplace emphasize more on technical skills that business communication from their employers. According to Gellis (2011), it is right to conclude that reports are more professional than essay writing because they are clear and strictly to the point, unlike essays that try to give the audience the message that they want to hear.

In conclusion, business communication is very important in society as it aims at reducing poor communication in the workplace as well as improve the employees' writing skills. Furthermore it creates a platform where people can heir their opinions freely. Therefore the two disciplines should be enforced together as they all have their roles and values without one dominating over the other.
