Is there we could learn from others? How can I help others/myself learn? As we all know humans are better than the other animals at learning from each other. We must always take benefit of this power and learn from as many people as we can. At least, learn the great things and not the bad stuff. After we are receptive to learning from others, we enjoy their experiences yet as our own and we can inherit their wisdom and knowledge. We will learn from others both directly and indirectly.

Direct learning takes place once we ask people how they are doing something, listening to their answer, and take a look at to imitate what they did. An honest example is asking friends how they are going to find the time to try and do all the reading for a literature or assignment.

Indirect learning is after we observe someone doing something and imitate the procedure the person follows. Suppose we notice that a friend doesn’t dine in the cafeteria, but instead brings lunch to a quiet spot and eats while studying. The friend is usually on time for the subsequent class. This looks as if a decent strategy, so we imitate it. By doing this, we’ve to grant up some social time with friends within the cafeteria, but you think it’s an inexpensive swap.

When learning from others, you have got to make certain to judge effectiveness of what we’ve got learned. Not everyone seems to be successful with the identical strategies.

The evaluation should happen in two phases. In phase one, you identify the likelihood of the strategy working with us. If we expect it should work, then try it. Make certain to follow through with the second phase of the evaluation, determine how successful the strategy was after we’ve got completed it.

How did I plan my learning? Once I decided to boost vocabulary skills, I jot the points on a page that what all things I can do to learn this skill. So I made a decision to observe watch YouTube videos about vocabulary, read novel and other literature, watch and skim English news. Like I read ’The story of my life’ by ‘Helen Keller’, ‘Gulliver Travels’ by ‘Jonathan Swift’ and ‘The Invisible man’ by ‘H.G. Wells’.

My group members or peers also helped me by giving suggestions for YouTube videos, suggesting novels, etc. Also my teacher of ‘Learning How To Learn subject’ suggested a book in session i.e. ‘Word Power made easy’ that I downloaded as pdf file and commenced reading. One subject too that helped in UPES is ‘Living conversation’ that taught me importance of pure and effective conversation in life and also a way to improve our communication skills; thanks to this subject I came to understand what are different types of speakers and that I am an Assertive speaker. Some videos shown on learning in LHTL subject and on communication in Living conversation subject helped me lots. Also because of these online classes whatever new words I read within the PPT slides of the subjects, I find out their meaning on the web and checkout to recollect them. This is often how I worked.

How do I manage my time to learn new things? I’ve read somewhere regardless of what number of books we’ve read (or haven’t), regardless of how big our dreams are (or aren’t), irrespective of what ‘potential’ we’ve (or don’t) — we’ve got 24 hours. Today’s 24 hours will move faster than yesterday’s and tomorrow’s 24 hours will go faster still. I also learnt about time management in ‘Leadership and Teamwork’ classes, within which one method I learnt was ‘Calendar method’.

I had made my small calendar page in which I mentioned daily tasks, dates for follow ups and the tasks, personal deadlines and so delete the completed tasks.

Whenever I got free time in keeping with that calendar I gave that time to learn skill and to figure on portfolios; totaly on weekends we were free for longer than the weekdays. So I believe if we manage time, we are more productive learners, it reduces our stress, it improves our self worth and builds up confidence; also we will achieve our goals.

At last I’d prefer to say that we should always attempt to learn new things in life. Once we reach learning something we feel better, more confident in ourselves and our ability to tackle all types of new tasks. Knowledge is power. After we have knowledge, we’ve got the power to achieve many things. Learning keeps the brain active. Self-growth is essential to measure a satisfying live a fulfilling life and having a successful career. One in all the most effective things about life is that we must never stop learning. There are always new skills to find out and techniques for us to adopt. And this was all about my learning and my sort & style of leaning.
