Oprah Winfrey and Ariana Grande: Women That Inspire Me

Oprah Winfrey was born in Mississippi on January 29,1954. Her parents were not married and broke up soon after she was born. Oprah Winfrey’s grandmother was strict and gave her plenty of discipline as she grew up on an isolated farm. Her grandmother taught her many things such as reading by the age of two. With Winfrey being intelligent and able to read by the age of two, she was able to skip first and second grade.

Oprah Winfrey is one of America’s best-loved influencers. She had a big effect on the nation’s culture, beginning with her role as a host of televisions. She is best known for her talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah being herself towards her audience is the main reason why she is popular and liked by many people. With her being herself, people can connect and relate to her. As her show bloomed, she was able to get many new opportunities such as to act on television or in films.

Winfrey's success has not lessened her sense of helping her community which makes her so unique because she spends a big amount of her own time speaking in churches and schools for free. She also spends a lot of her own money helping the less fortunate. Winfrey also uses her show to promote awarenesses and raise money for charities.

I chose Oprah Wynfrey as another person who inspires me because although she has reached her dreams she continues to give back to her community. I think she is so inspiring because nowadays influencers like her tend to use their money on materialistic things but she knows how to and where to spend her money such as helping the less fortunate.

Ariana Grande was born in Florida, in 1993 and began performing on stage when she was a child. She has been on TV shows such as Victorious and Sam&Cat. After being an actor for a little while she decided to begin her music career as a singer. She has released five albums and one of the recent albums she released was Thank U, Next. Some of her achievements were winning three American Music Awards which are Artist of the Year in 2016 and two MTV video music awards.

Ariana has become one of the greatest performers in recent years. Not only is she a singer but also a role model. By allowing herself to live and be whoever she wants to be without being bothered on what people think makes her a role model. She inspires people by remaining genuine and being down to earth. What makes her such a new role model was when she had to deal with her ex Mac miller’s death and was open about the pain fame. She was very honest with her fans on how she felt about haters saying it was her fault for her ex’s death and how therapy has saved her life due to that incident.

Ariana is unique because she is not afraid to speak her mind and enjoys and embraces herself. I picked Ariana as one of my role models because I love her music and she encourages me to love myself and to not care what others think of me. She also inspires me to be strong and that no matter what things come my way I will be able to overcome them.
