A natural disaster is when the earth is upset with what we have done to it. So it decides to punish us by taking human lives, animal lives, ruining the water we drink and the air we breath. Leaving part of a planet a disaster through wildfires, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes and in many other ways.
The sun is getting hotter due to global warming which makes it rain more which increases the odds of a flood. Also with the sun being so hot it drys out the parts of the earth that just so happened not to get a lot of rain can burn a lot easier than places with water so forest fires can start easier. Also with the ground always moving it is very hard to predict when earthquakes are going to happen.
Natural disasters are a problem due to the fact that the are very destructive from throwing houses around like rag dolls to wiping out entire cities. They are also very deadly and can take many lives both human and animal. These disasters can take anywhere from a few months up to a decade or two to recover from.
We can find better ways to gather the resources from our planet without doing too much damage to it. We can also prepare for them by using better warning systems. We can put back flow valves in sewage systems, make storm shutters and live inland instead of by the shore.
After surviving a natural disaster a lot of communities tend to call in the army or agencies like red cross to aid survivors by giving them shelter, food, aid and counselling if needed. Agencies like red cross will also help you get in touch with your family.
Even though you can never be ready for natural disaster but there are many ways to be better prepared. Check to see with your insurance company to see what you have coverage on, put your memories or photos somewhere safe like online or water proof storage. Make a place to meet if you get seperated and different ways to communicate if power comes goes down like walkie talkies.
John P. Morgridge once said 'It is unfortunately true that our generation and that of your parents have left you with a big mess that will now be yours to clean up.' You never know when a natural disaster is going to happen but with a little preparation and knowledge, you have a better chance in surviving a natural disaster.
