Understanding that your child’s growing stages could be affected because the child's parent doesn't want involvement with them. How does only having 1 parent affect my child? Well having a parent has a significant impact on the children that most parents don't know. There are many reasons why a parent isn't present during a kids childhood. It could be that the parents: are Divorced, the parent died at an early age, or the parent wasnt informed about the childbirth. But the main the topic we´ll be focused on is divorce. Divorce often creates an emotional roller coaster for the entire family but for kids, it becomes frustrating and confusing.
Younger children often struggle to understand why they´re parents are getting divorced. many kids worry that if their parents can stop loving one another that someday their parents may stop loving them. Middle schooler may worry that the divorce is their fault. They may fear they misbehaved and cause them to divorce. In some situations, teenagers may become quite angry about the divorce and the changes it creates. They may blame one parent for the separation. Children dealing with divorce issues has been proven that divorce impacts the behavior of the child impeccably. Divorce tends to cause misbehavior in school more often than other kids. The misbehavior is caused because while there are things going on at home the kids only way to avoid the problem is by going to school. In many cases, the child acts out because they're not getting enough attention from the parents at home. Or the child is having difficulties communicating with the parents. Research states that children dealing with divorce affects the child's well being and education. Studies have been shown that kids from divorced families tend to score lower on achievement tests than kids not dealing with any problems at home. Data has also been shown that having separated parents has been connected with higher truancy rates and higher dropout rates. Besides, that Divorce can sometimes cause kids to get involved with drugs and sex at an early age.
But, not only does the child's involvement with Divorce impact their education but also it increases the risk of mental health problems in children. Regardless of age, gender, and culture, studies show children of divorced parents experience increased psychological problems, for example, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, and even autism. Depression is a mental illness that has a significant effect on a person’s ability to function normally and is changed feelings of sadness, emptiness, worthlessness, and hopelessness. Some Advice For Parents helping their child get through this change would be to support your child. Like if the divorce is really impacting the child consider putting your child in therapy. Another piece of advice for parents is to pay attention to your child's behavior if your children is misbehaving in class or even if the child's grade ians going downhill.
Take a moment with your child and talk to them ask how they feel. Although we all have different ways to deal with change speaking with your child is always the first step. In addition be open-minded about how your child might feel. give them some space to breathe. Although going through the changes of divorce might be very intimidating because of all of the things that could go wrong with your child dealing with the separation. It's better for your child to adjust to the changes rather than growing up in a household with arguing all the time. Being in an arguing household could be even more effective than getting a divorce. In the end, the family will adjust to the changes and live the rest of their lives happier than before.
