ISIS or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant has been identified as a major terrorist organization by the United States of America and several other individual countries, they are the real monsters of society! I believe that this untamable group is a burden on mankind and they are a danger to not only our community, but to other countries and nations across the globe as well. This Islamic group is known for countless numbers of deaths which all falls under the promotion of their “religious “violence. ISIS or ISIL is widely known across the world for its infamous videos of them beheading or executing soldiers or innocent civilians. Several civilians ended up being journalists from other countries such as the U.S.A. and aid workers. I feel like this group of “monsters “are a disgrace to society and I will never understand why they will praise someone who promotes “religious “violence which is really an excuse for the slaughtering of innocent blood nationwide. Terrorism has been a big problem since in the incident in 9/11, and we as Americans were hoping this monstrosity would have died off years ago after the death of Osama Bin Laden who was the leader of a deadly terrorist group.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t died off. It seems as if it was only the beginning. The origin of ISIS began in the late 1990’s, it was founded by Salafi Jihadist Abu Musab al-Zarqavi under the name Jamaz Jihad. Jamaz received notoriety in the early stages of the Iraq Insurgency due to their suicidal attacks on Shia mosques, civilians, Iraq government institutions, and Italian Soldiers of an US led Multi National Force. This group of terrorist have been active since 1999 and they are responsible for thousands of death and their needs to be an end put to this monstrosity. The real question that is probably bouncing through your mind is why do they do it? What is their motive? As I stated in the first paragraph The Islamic Sate of Iraq and the Levant otherwise known as ISIS promotes religious violence. Thus meaning that every act of violence this group commits they are motivated by “religious” purposes much like Al Qaeda who avenge wrongs done by Christians and Jews to Muslims over time. ISIS’ major goal is to create an enormous Islamic State known as “caliphate “that encompasses all Muslims across the world. The major problem is that they murder innocent people and children because of some “religious “purposes that they follow. As a real human being how can you be happy knowing you just took a child’s life? A father’s? A mother’s life? And so on, I don’t care what religion you’re in that it just wrong in all eyes and that type of behavior is monstrous. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant should matter to us because it’s a major problem in today’s society that the modern world is blind to because we can never predict their next move and prevent any further terrorist attacks. ISIS is steady heavily recruiting new members every day to their organization by using social media as a platform to promote reactionary politics and religious fundamentalism.

We have to assemble up and find ways to protect our people from these horrific attacks any time anywhere. It’s disgusting to watch CNN news or to look on social media and witness their attacks being done in places people usually go to have a good time. For instance, in early May of 2017 the famous pop star Arianna Grande was having a concert in Manchester, England when all of a sudden everything went bad. There was an explosion that went off in the Manchester Arena and the attack killed at least 22 people and injured 59 others and ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack. This terrorist organization has become so big of a problem that people can’t even go out and enjoy themselves without it happening to be their last time. The world needs to heavily focus on this terrorist group because we can witness a murder and just give our condolences to the family and think nothing of it, but what if that person or those people happen to be someone in our family? What if the next victim(s) so happens to be your husband, wife, loved one, or even your children?

The bad thing is that “according to a report by the magazine Foreign Policy, children as young as six are recruited or kidnapped and sent to military and religious training camps, where they practice beheading with dolls and are indoctrinated with the religious views of ISIL” from a Wikipedia source.

According to other reports, the children are also used a human shields on front lines and often used to provide blood transfusions for the Islamic Soldiers. This type of cruelty is something that we cannot accept because if that was my child I know I would go to the end of the world to try and get them back.

In conclusion, I believe the untamable group, ISIS are considered monstrous because of their inhumane nature. ISIS are a danger to society and mankind; they have the willing ability to kill innocent children, mothers, and fathers, and say it is because of their “religious” beliefs. As a society we have our own constructed social norms and murdering innocent people definitely does not fit that description; Recording a beheading of an innocent individual is not considered to okay either. To the people who belong to ISIS these things are normal and may even be apart of their day to day life. For these reasons I believe ISIS should be considered monstrous.
