Apple And Facebook'S Social Responsibility And Ethics
Many major cooperation is aware of their products are being used by many people from around the globe. To make sure that the company going forward. They need to have a good reputation, it means each cooperation need to be more ethic. To make sure that the cooperation has a successful management, company requires social and moral expertise (Zimmerli & Richter & Holizinger). However, due to variety of the cooperation around the world, consumers have many choices to choose from (Teece, 2010). So, each cooperation need to do their best to reach the consumers expectation, and interest. Apple and Facebook are the big well-known cooperation from the people around the world. Moreover, they are innovation and produced the technology that help the change the world (Independent, 2015). However, these two company has been doing something completely different from one to another.
Many consumers have a different opinion toward these two company. Detailed will be given on how cooperation social responsible work, what does ‘give something back’ really mean and how these two companies had done toward the society and the differences between them. Cooperation social responsibleBeing the cooperation socially responsibility is the important part for many major companies. To earn consumers trust, the owner of the cooperation need to realise that the cooperation social responsibility process is more likely important on how the whole community see the cooperation action, and, therefore, they always curious about their demands (Carrasco, 2007). Nowadays, many consumers are much worried more about how merchandises and services have been manufactured (Carrasco, 2007). This interest has to do with the transformation of the values that modern commercial societies are experiencing (Carrasco, 2007). However, consumers satisfaction does not only focus on the quality of goods and services, but to ask for new goods and services that apply ethical performance that important to the production procedure (Carrasco, 2007).
Many consumers always request that ethical is very important, such as behaviour of the cooperation toward the society, fairness, or environmental friendly, and need to be treated and studied (Carrasco, 2007). Furthermore, the ethnicity background, community, demographic and how technology has been changing over the year have been processing so that social and environmental risks will have more value and volatility today than in the past for the undertaking (Carrasco, 2007). The change of the social look into the cooperation is also connected to economic growth that could affect cooperation profitability and the reputation (Carrasco, 2007). The idea of cooperation social responsibility is inherent to how society judge the company and, more clearly of that cooperation (Carrasco, 2007). Moreover, cooperation social responsibility was increase cost of the aspect (Carrasco, 2007). Nowadays, it already has shown that sustainability is an independent factor which can have a positive influence, not only to the society, but also the business and the owners. (Carrasco, 2007). So, by the mean of ‘give something back’, it means that when the consumers bought the one of cooperation product, they expect that with the money that they had spent need to be a good use for the community, not only just being profitable toward the cooperation. AppleApple is one of the biggest technology company in the world. Most well-known technologies are Iphone, Ipad, Macbook. However, in order to catch more attention from the society, Apple has been many society responsibly.
According to Apple, Apple company has been doing many social responsibilities such as being care about the environment to reduce the problem with the climate change, making sure the materials that make their technology come from safest and reliable sourced and labour, human rights are being practice in the workplace and the change. Apple has been doing their best, in order to catch the expectation of their consumers. In 2016, Apple had been using 96 percentages of the renewable energy to run their global facility (Environmental Responsible Report, 2017). Moreover, in 24 countries that Apple has its facilities located in it are using 100 percentage of renewable, including Apple’s data centres (Environmental Responsible Report, 2017). As Apple believe that by using the renewable could do less impact on the climate change (Environmental Responsible Report, 2017).
With renewable energy, Apple was named the most environmental-friendly company. (Apple, 2017). Furthermore, Apple did not only just use the renewable energy. They are planning to make that their products are making from the reliable resource that could not cause any harmful toward the environment. So, they decided to make sure that to make sure that their products are using the energy responsibly and by using aluminium to make their phone, in order to decrease carbon footprint that could affect the environment. (Environmental Responsible Report, 2017). Apple also do provide the non-threaten environment in the workplace.
Employees must treat and respect one and another under the apple rule. And those who do not the response to the company policy will be terminated from the company. (Apple, 2018). By using Apple products, it means consumers tend to think that they are trying to help the company fight to find the solution toward these problemAs for the result, Apple has been making sure that their products reach the consumer’s expectation and satisfy the needs of them. Moreover, they have succeeded it by earning their customers trust and able to sell their products. (Khan & Alam & Alam, 2015)FacebookOn the other hand, Facebook which is one of the biggest social media cooperation has been doing the exact opposite of what Apple is doing, instead of doing what most people think that it is ethic. However, in 2018 there was a scandal about Facebook on how Facebook had been using their consumer data to sell them to most well-known such as Samsung, and many more cooperation (Fiegerman, 2018). Many consumers expect their data and privacy are being protect from the outside world. However, Facebook has been selling the information to other company which is a disrespectful toward its consumers and many consumers started to lose their trust in Facebook. As for the result, Facebook has lost billions of dollars from its market value, and the price stock went downhill (Fiegerman, 2018). To conclude, by ‘give something back’ is very important to the cooperation. It is like how cooperation treats the environment.
